  • Stand by Me - 2011 on Random Favorite Movie Casts

    (#28) Stand by Me - 2011

In 1986, Rob Reiner directed the movie adaptation of Stephen King's short story Stand by Me. The film, about a crew of young kids on a hunt to find a dead body, not only became an instant classic, but it created a few movie stars, including River Phoenix and Kiefer Sutherland. And wait, the film even depicts a young Jerry O'Connell, who later reached stud status.

Tragically, River Phoenix passed from an overdose in 1993 at the age of 23, but the rest of the crew reassembled in 2011 for the launch of the Blu-Ray DVD. The most noticeable change is definitely in Jerry O'Connell, who left the chubby kid behind and became a tall, ripped, model-esque man. Wil Wheaton went on to do work in TV, while Feldman went on to solidify his position as one of "the Coreys."

  • Mrs. Doubtfire on Random Favorite Movie Casts

    (#13) Mrs. Doubtfire

    • Robin Williams, Sally Field, Pierce Brosnan, Harvey Fierstein, Polly Holliday, Lisa Jakub, Matthew Lawrence, Mara Wilson, Robert Prosky, Anne Haney, Scott Capurro

One of Robin Williams's most memorable roles is as the titular character in Mrs. Doubtfire. After Daniel Hillard (Williams) is left without visitation rights to his three children, he hatches a plan with his brother to dress up as a nanny and convince his ex-wife Miranda (Sally Field) to hire him as a housekeeper. Daniel learns how to be a better partner and father as his alter ego, and Miranda agrees to grant him custody as well.

On October 24, 2018, nearly 25 years after the film was released, Pierce Brosnan (Stu Dunmeyer), Lisa Jakub (Lydia Hillard), Matthew Lawrence (Chris Hillard), and Mara Wilson (Natalie Hillard) had a mini Mrs. Doubtfire reunion. The get together feels a little bittersweet, given Robin Williams's passing back in 2014.

Still, the four celebrated the anniversary in style, adding that "Robin is in heaven making the angels laugh and was spoken of with the fondest of love and sweet memories."

  • (#27) The Princess Bride

    • Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Mandy Patinkin, Chris Sarandon, Christopher Guest, Wallace Shawn, Fred Savage, Peter Falk, Peter Cook, Carol Kane, Billy Crystal, Mel Smith, André the Giant

In 1987, the world received a gift known as The Princess Bride. Princess Buttercup, Westley, Inigo Montoya, and Vizzini are some of cinema's most quoted and memorable characters of all time. Plus, this movie really brought the grandfather and grandson relationship to a whole new level.

In 2011, everybody's wishes came true in true when Entertainment Weekly reunited the OG cast (except for the late Andre the Giant). Then, the group also attended the 25th-anniversary screening and cast reunion during the 50th New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall in New York City in 2012.

  • Charlie's Angels on Random Favorite Movie Casts

    (#9) Charlie's Angels

    • Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, Bill Murray, Sam Rockwell, Tim Curry, Kelly Lynch, Crispin Glover, Matt LeBlanc, LL Cool J, Tom Green, Luke Wilson, John Forsythe

This 2000's hit follows three female detectives as they unravel the dubious plan of mastermind who seeks to invade people's privacy. The women are experts of disguise, espionage, and martial arts and operate under the influence of a mysterious boss. Charlie's Angels is a remake of the 1970s original, and though it received mixed reviews, it holds up a cult classic in the mainstay media.

On May 1, 2019, Lucy Liu was granted a Hollywood star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. During the ceremony, Charlie's Angels co-stars Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore showed up in support of Liu. Demi Moore, who appeared alongside the trio in the 2003 followup, Charlie's Angels - Full Throttle, also came to support Liu. In her speech, Moore said:

I could see [Liu] was in fact, as I had heard, a bad*ss with brains. Then the better I got to know her I realized she wasn't just about a bad*ss with brains, she was a bad*ss with brains, a beautiful heart with a deep loving soul, and a good sense of humor.

Liu herself gushed, "My dear Angels. It's a 20 year reunion. Twenty years ago, we were an elite crime fighting team and now look at us!"

  • (#20) Goodfellas

    • Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco, Paul Sorvino, Frank Sivero, Tony Darrow, Mike Starr, Frank Vincent, Chuck Low, Frank DiLeo, Christopher Serrone

When you think of mob movies, Goodfellas is always at the top of the list. With Ray Liotta as a made man who gets in over his head, the violent yet amazing film from Martin Scorcese got an Academy Award nod - and star Joe Pesci even won. Made in 1990, the film also stars Martin Scorcese's real mother.

The Tribeca Film festival got most of the cast (except Pesci, who sent a note that said, “F*ck, f*ck, f*ckity, f*ck," about his absence) together to show a new print of the movie and close out the festival in 2015. After the screening, Jon Stewart hosted a Q&A, which revealed that Pesci's "funny" scene was mostly improvised.

  • (#16) Aliens

    • Sigourney Weaver, Carrie Henn, Michael Biehn, Paul Reiser, Lance Henriksen, Bill Paxton, William Hope, Jenette Goldstein, Al Matthews, Mark Rolston, Ricco Ross, Colette Hiller, Daniel Kash, Cynthia Dale Scott, Tip Tipping, Trevor Steedman, Paul Maxwell, Valerie Colgan, Alan Polonsky, Alibe Parsons, Blain Fairman

Did you know that Sigourney Weaver became the highest paid actress in town in 1986 by making $1 million for her reprisal as Ellen Ripley in Aliens? This is one of the few sequels that people argue is as good (or better) than the original, mainly for one reason - Newt. What happened to her?

Newt became a school teacher! Yes, Carrie Henn left the business after this film but was thrilled to get back together with her cast, including Bill Paxton, Paul Reiser, and, of course, Sigourney Weaver. They got together in 2011 at - you guessed it - an EW reunion! What would we do without Entertainment Weekly?

The cast got together again in 2016 at San Diego's Comic-Con for the film's 30th anniversary. Paxton (who passed in 2017) called Aliens "the gift that keeps on giving."
