Obsessively clean and highly competitive, she was considered bossy and high-maintenance by her friends. Her parents favored Ross and she was often neglected by them throughout the show, especially by her mother. Monica was the only female member of the group to never be pregnant, despite being the only one who was trying to conceive. -

The eccentric, street smart friend, Phoebe lived on the streets of New York City from the age of 14. Though she never attended high school or college, she claimed to have special abilities including being able to hear Joey's thoughts, see and read the aura of others, and read tea leaves. Chandler was perhaps best known for his wise-cracking, sardonic attitude, odd dance moves, and humorous conversations with Phoebe. The manager of Central Perk, Gunther had a smoking habit and an adoration for Rachel. His obsession put him at odds with Ross and the two became bitter rivals. James Michael Tyler, who played Gunther was cast because he was the only extra who knew how to operate an espresso machine. He didn't have a line until the 33rd episode. -

Chandler's long-time on-again, off-again girlfriend, Janice was best known for her obnoxious, nasally voice and her trademark line, "Oh my God!" Maggie Wheeler's portrayal of the character was a parody of Fran Drescher from The Nanny. -

A sixth grade teacher, Carol was Ross's first ex-wife. She left him shortly before the first episode of the show when she realized that was a lesbian. Despite the split, Carol and Ross regularly hung out with the rest of the main characters on the show. She raised their son, Ben, with her partner Susan. -

Anita Barone played the Carol role in the first two episodes of the show before Sibbett took over. Joey Tribbiani's chain-smoking acting agent, Estelle wasn't very good at her job. Despite the fact that she and Joey got along well, most of the roles she got for him were as an extra with minimal, if any speaking lines. She even offered him a role in a gay porn. Estelle died during the tenth season, just before the series finale. -

A handsome ophthalmologist 21 years older than Monica, Dr. Burke was close friends with the Gellers. He became Monica's boyfriend but their relationship began to fall apart and when Monica asked him about their future, Richard saw them in Paris, a happy couple without kids, while Monica was keen on having children. They ultimately bbroke up. -

Frank Buffay Jr. was Phoebe and Ursula's half-brother. Phoebe discovers him on one of her attempts to try and find her father, who walked out on her and her twin sister when they were children. Frank Jr. liked to melt things, had a dog named Tumor and believed massage parlors were another term for brothels, leading to the embarrassing misconception that Phoebe was a prostitute. -

Aisha Tyler's career has certainly taken off since her stint on Friends. In addition to her regular role as Andrea Marino on the first season of Ghost Whisper, she voices Lana Kane on the FX animated series Archer, is a co-host on The Talk, and host of Whose Line Is It Anyway? Tyler has also hosted the past three Ubisoft E3 press conferences, appeared in The Santa Clause films, was a guest film critic on At the Movies with Ebert & Roeper while Roger Ebert was recuperating from surgery, and is a regular contributor to Glamour, Jane, and Entertainment Weekly magazines.
She also published her first book Swerve: Reckless Observations of a Postmodern Girl in 2004 and also plays on the Hollywood Poker Tour for charity. -

Julie was Ross's girlfriend at the beginning of the second season. They knew each other from grad school and were reunited during a dig in China. She entered the lives of the friends at a bad time as Rachel had just learned about Ross's true feelings for her. Rachel felt like Julie stole Ross from her. -

Tag was an attractive mid-20s guy who Rachel hired to be her assistant at Ralph Lauren. She chose him for his looks, confident that her attraction to him wouldn't be a problem. He found out that she liked him and they soon had an affair. Rachel dumped him on her 30th birthday after realizing that he wasn't mature enough for her. He tried to win her back but was scared off when he learned she was pregnant. -

Mona was Ross's recurring girlfriend during the season eight. Their relationship began just as Ross learned that Rachel was pregnant with his child. Their relationship was often plagued by unfortunate coincidences and ultimately, it ended when Ross wanted Rachel to move in with him (because of the pregnancy). -
