  • The Losing Edge on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

    (#1) The Losing Edge

    • Apr 06 2005

As the boys' little league baseball team progresses throughout the season (much to their dismay), Randy starts picking fights with fathers of the opposing teams. "The Losing Edge" might be Randy Marsh's magnum opus in the world of South Park: the farther the team goes on to play in various championships, the tougher the fights get for Randy. It all comes to a head when Randy has to face off against "Bat-Dad" during the boys' state championship game.

The reason this is such a great Randy episode is due to how seriously he takes his role as the dad who gets into fights. Fighting other fathers isn't just something Randy does during little league games; in Randy's mind, it's something he has to do for his son, for the team, and for the town of South Park.

Funniest line: "I'm not allowed to stand up for myself?! I thought this was America! Huh?! Isn't this America?! I'm sorry, I thought this was America!

  • With Apologies to Jesse Jackson on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

(#2) With Apologies to Jesse Jackson

    • Mar 07 2007

After saying a racial slur on a live game show, Randy sets out to make things right by, among other things, setting up the Randy Marsh African American Scholarship Foundation. Randy's reaction to how people view him is both hilarious and ridiculous as he now feels that he has become a victim of the racial slur and moves to have the slur be illegal. Randy rarely gets to be a minority in a situation and he hilariously jumps at any chance to be one. This episode is the epitome of that running character trait of Randy's.

Randy knows he caused pain by saying the racial slur, but now foolishly believes he feels the same pain since he's now known as a guy who has used the slur.  Randy's spoken word poetry scene is a good example of Randy not being able to comprehend that he isn't a victim in this situation (which he put himself in) and that his pleas for everyone to understand his plight falls on confused and deaf ears.

Funniest line: "Words with venom, words that bind. Words used like weapons to cloud my mind. I'm a person. I'm a man. But no matter how I try, people just say "Hey! There's that 'n***er' guy.'

  • Medicinal Fried Chicken on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

    (#3) Medicinal Fried Chicken

    • Mar 31 2010

When discovering that he can take advantage of the new weed dispensaries without a prescription from a doctor, Randy does whatever he can to give himself cancer in order to secure a doctor's note. South Park being the show it is, of course, doesn't give Randy a regular form of cancer. No, Randy gets cancer by sticking his testicles into a microwave and making said testicles grow incredibly large.

"Medicinal Fried Chicken" shows that Randy Marsh is nothing if not creative. Eventually, Randy's testicular cancer grows at such a rapid rate that he can no longer enter the dispensary and purchase cannabis due to high enlarged his testicles have become. While it's doubtful whether Randy ever actually learned anything from his actions in the episode, at least we got to see him ride his gonads down the street like a hoppity-hop, which is easily one of the funniest sight gags in the show's history.

Funniest line: "Just gonna get a little bit of cancer, Stan. Tell Mom it's okay.

  • Creme Fraiche on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

    (#4) Creme Fraiche

Randy's love for the Food Network is ruining his family's life as his borderline obsessive nature takes a more erotic turn. Randy's wife, Sharon, is so offended by his awkward new habit that has to look elsewhere for that kind of attention (enter the Shake-Weight). Meanwhile, Stan is shocked and embarrassed to find out that Randy's newfound love of cooking leads to him becoming the new school cafeteria chef.

Randy Marsh's obsessive nature shines brightly in "Crème Fraîche", making it one of the funniest episodes in the entire series. What also makes this episode stand out is the fact that almost every major character has their own hilarious subplot, all while somehow relating to Randy's ridiculousness.

Funniest line: "Crème fraîche, Cafeteria Fraîche. Lalalalala fraîche. Ho ho hohoho."

    Original Airing: Nov 17, 2010
    Season: South Park- Season 14

  • Cock Magic on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

    (#5) Cock Magic

The kids have gotten into underground Cock Magic which has roosters playing Magic The Gathering. When Randy hears about Cock Magic, he believes it to be a magic show using your...well you know, which apparently he had a history of performing back in college. "Cock Magic" has Randy Marsh doing what he does best: not actually understanding what's going on in his son's life.

This is a fairly innocent episode for Randy. A misunderstanding of what Cock Magic actually is leads to a very funny scene where Randy performs his routine during a police raid, where, naturally, hilarity ensues.

Funniest line: "All right, Sharon. I'm practicing. Cock magic is making a comeback."

    Original Airing: Nov 19, 2014
    Season: South Park- Season 18
    Episode Number: 8

  • Make Love, Not Warcraft on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

    (#6) Make Love, Not Warcraft

    • Oct 04 2006

"Make Love, Not Warcraft" features Randy trying to learn how to play World of Warcraft after watching Stan play. As the boys team up with other kids at school to defeat an extremely overpowered player, Randy rushes to the rescue. While Randy's definitely not the focal point of the episode, he plays a crucial role as he has to get a sword to his son so the boys can defeat another player, with the humor being sold through how seriously Randy takes the game.

Randy trying to comprehend Stan's interests always makes for a great episode due to his wanting to relate to his son while always failing miserably. His bumbling in-game character is also a highlight. Sure, he's a newb, but he's also a hero.

Funniest line: "Not now, Nelson. I just joined a big party of night elves and we're gonna explore the Tower of Azora together.

  • Something Wall-Mart This Way Comes on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

(#7) Something Wall-Mart This Way Comes

    • Nov 03 2004

Randy becomes obsessed with all of the great deals the town's new big box store has to offer. He isn't the only person who shops at the new store, but as usual, he's the most gung-ho about it. The local businesses suffer, and while Randy wants to stop shopping at a big business he literally can't help himself. Randy even goes so far as to quit his job to work at Wall-Mart just to get the meager employee discount.

We've seen Randy's habit-forming tendencies throughout the show, but this episode takes it a step further. When Randy becomes obsessed with something he REALLY obsesses over it, and as he falls deeper down the rabbit hole it's up to his family to work overtime to bring him back to reality.

Funniest line: "It's simple economics, son. I don't understand it at all, but God I love it.

  • Over Logging on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

    (#8) Over Logging

    • Apr 16 2008

After finding out that the town's internet connection is down, Randy does what only he would think is logical, which is taking his family all the way to California to a place that is rumored to have an internet connection. "Over Logging" gives us a desperate Randy Marsh, and by this point in the show's run we know that a desperate Randy equals a hilarious Randy.

Randy can't be without an internet connection due to his online compulsion and that is what makes him uproot his family. In this episode, Randy Marsh didn't break the internet, the internet broke Randy Marsh.

Funniest line: "There was a ghost! A-a-and-this, this ectoplasm! It ran through here; it sli-it slimed me!"

  • More Crap on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

    (#9) More Crap

    • Oct 10 2007

"More Crap" loves reminding you that South Park is an Emmy award-winning series all while having Randy Marsh attempt to make the biggest poop in human history. Randy is at his most innocent in this episode, as he's so proud to have had taken the world's biggest poo and is devastated when his record is immediately broken (by U2's Bono of all people). Randy thought that this could be the one time he could finally win something and that having this disgusting (while admittedly impressive) record would make him no longer feel like a loser.

Throughout the show's history, it's been well established that Randy Marsh will go to extreme lengths to reach his goals. "More Crap" is one of the few times where Randy actually reaches his goal. While sitting way up high on the mountain of excrement he just took, we see him worn out, but victorious. Randy's victories are a rare sight on South Park, just as rare as an Emmy award-winning show having a major character literally sitting on top of a massive pile of crap and getting rewarded for it.

Funniest line: “I mean, this was something I made! Something that came from me! That was a part of me! The only thing I ever made that was any good!

  • Night of the Living Homeless on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

(#10) Night of the Living Homeless

    • Apr 18 2007

The sleepy town of South Park suddenly gets overrun with an out-of-control homeless population. In a parody of George A. Romero's classic zombie films, Randy overreacts in a way that only he could. The stranded townspeople all act like survivors from a typical zombie movie, rationing their food and supplies for as long as they can.

"Night of the Living Homeless" shows Randy in a state of fear due to the influx of homeless people in South Park who are mulling up and down the streets asking everyone for spare change. Sure, Randy keeps his composure at first, but things take a turn for the worse once he realizes all the Pop-Tarts are gone. When the town faces any sort of crisis, they tend to become lawless, and that's usually Randy's time to shine.

Funniest line: "That’s it, everyone. We’re out of Pop-Tarts.

  • Margaritaville on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

    (#11) Margaritaville

    • Mar 25 2009

In an episode about the recession, Randy's solution to appease the economy results in South Park essentially devolving into an ancient city. While Randy preaches conservative spending, he continues his impulsive spending habits in secret (like purchasing a new and expensive margarita maker). It doesn't take long before the town realizes they're newly appointed leader isn't exactly abiding by his own economic principles.

"Margaritaville" is a standout Randy Marsh episode because it's a perfect example of how Randy's lunacy can infect the rest of the town. Randy does what Randy does because in his mind somebody has to do something, and he doesn't have the patience to let logical thinking play out.

Funniest line: "I am pretty smart, yea. But I have assembled this economic committee to make sure that everyone sticks to my new plan."

  • Broadway Bro Down on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

    (#12) Broadway Bro Down

    • Oct 26 2011

After realizing that taking your partner to a Broadway musical always leads to sexual favors, Randy starts getting a little too involved in the inner workings of Broadway and feels the backlash from musical theater's greatest minds. While coming to terms with his newfound power, things quickly take a turn for the worse as Randy realizes his daughter is going to see a musical with Larry. After failing to convince Shelly to leave, Randy takes matters into his own hands.

"Broadway Bro Down" takes everything you think you know about Broadway musicals and flips it on its head. If you ever wanted to see the likes of Stephen Sondheim, Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Elton John chastise Randy while they chow down on chicken wings in a Hooters, then this  Randy Marsh episode of South Park is a must-watch.

Funniest line: "Shelly, I'm sorry your little friend was killed by Spider-Man tonight.

  • Pinewood Derby on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

    (#13) Pinewood Derby

    • Apr 15 2009

Randy's tasked with representing planet Earth as aliens invade thanks to the super-fast (and rule-breaking) pinewood derby car he made for Stan. When aliens ask to meet with Randy and Stan and inspect the model, Randy is insistent that the pinewood derby car they made was legitimate, even at the behest of Stan to tell the truth. Some miscommunications arise and eventually Randy and Stan stumble upon a pile of space cash. Instead of turning the cash into the proper space authorities, Randy convinces everyone to hide the cash, leading to Earth being barred from the rest of the universe forever.

"Pinewood Derby" is another example of what happens when Randy gets thrust into a leadership position due to his stupidity. This is textbook Randy Marsh as he goes too far trying to help his son with something as small as winning a pinewood derby race and gets way in over his head way too fast. Randy leading a small group in town is dangerous, but Randy leading the entire planet is downright scary.

Funniest line: "Well Stan, we're proud of you for coming clean. But it doesn't change the fact that you cheated. Go to your room, son."

  • A Nightmare on Face Time on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

(#14) A Nightmare on Face Time

    • Oct 24 2012

Randy foolishly buys a Blockbuster Video believing—against everyone else's better judgment—it's a good business investment. Naturally, the video store does absolutely zero business (even though Randy remains optimistic about business picking up because of Halloween). After a short while, his optimism turns to insanity and Randy slowly starts to lose his mind.

Sometimes South Park needs to reach to connect the dots, but comparing Randy Marsh to Jack Torrance of The Shining works on so many different levels. For starters, Randy is a flawed man trying to hold it all together. He's also a parent who's constantly trying to be a good father and husband but his demons get the better of him. Also, a haunted and empty Blockbuster Video is a perfect stand-in for the Overlook Hotel that overtakes Torrance.

Funniest line: "You were thinking it. But you're wrong. The average person still wants to rent movies they can hold in their hands. We're gonna have customers up our a** Sharon, UP OUR A**.

  • You're Getting Old on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

    (#15) You're Getting Old

    • Jun 08 2011

After years of dealing with Randy's ridiculous shenanigans, Sharon’s finally hit a breaking point and leaves Randy, but instead of working to win her back, Randy becomes obsessed with becoming a musician. "You're Getting Old" is a stand out Randy Marsh episode if only for the fact that Randy's ridiculous antics throughout the years are shown to have taken their toll on his wife Sharon. Usually, on shows like South Park, everything starts at square one as soon as one episode ends and the next one begins. No real ramifications take place no matter how severe one's actions are.

What makes this episode truly stand out is the fact that viewers actually get to see a genuinely vulnerable Randy and we begin to see that Trey Parker and Matt Stone give more weight to the storylines on the show and have storylines span over multiple episodes.

Funniest line: "The other night I was chatting in a Tween Wave chatroom, because I do love Tween Wave so much.

  • Bloody Mary on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

    (#16) Bloody Mary

    • Dec 07 2005

Randy attends an A.A. meeting where’s he's told alcoholism is an illness. Naturally, Randy being Randy takes the news literally as he believes he's actually terminally sick and goes down the typical rabbit hole that amplifies his problem a lot more than it should. Eventually, Randy confines himself to a wheelchair as he continues to drink, leaving everyone around him annoyed... and sightly confused.

Randy's quest to find a cure for alcoholism that simply isn't just abstaining from drinking is typical Randy Marsh. He always thinks there's an easier way out of his situations, but every time his idea of what's easier is a million times more illogical, dumber, and, inevitably, much harder.

Funniest line: "Stan, you need to learn some things about being a man! Now give me that bottle!

  • All About Mormons on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

    (#17) All About Mormons

    • Nov 19 2003

When Randy finds out Stan went to a Mormon kid's house for dinner and was taught a few things about the Mormon faith, he becomes livid that another family was pushing their beliefs onto his son. Randy becomes so enrages he goes over to the Mormon family’s house to beat up the father (after double-checking his ethnicity first). After talking to the father (Mr. Harrison) and learning a little bit about the Mormon faith himself, Randy now decides to convert to Mormonism basically on the spot.

Randy Marsh isn't a huge focal point in the All About Mormons, but this episode is a good illustration of how simple-minded and easily persuaded he can be.

Funniest line: "That does it! From now on, our family is Mormon!

  • The Cissy on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

    (#18) The Cissy

    • Oct 08 2014

"The Cissy" drops one of the biggest bombshells in South Park (maybe in television history). Randy Marsh: husband, father, and record holder of the world's largest poo, is, in fact, Grammy recording Artist Lorde. Trey Parker and Matt Stone explain how Randy is Lorde in a way only they could, by Randy pretending to be a woman to use the women’s restroom at work (which coincides with the plot of this episode). Randy found that the women's restroom was a great place to make music in and thus Lorde's discography was born.

This episode is great cause it's an episode that shows Randy falling upwards. It reveals that somehow just wanting a quiet and clean place to use the restroom propelled him to pop music superstardom. It's just one of those random things South Park likes to throw into the show's canon.

Funniest line: "The record company messed it all up. It was supposed to go ‘Hunger Games', yah yah yah, yah yah yah! 'Hunger Games.’ But they just do what they want with my songs.

  • Two Days Before the Day After Tomorrow on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

(#19) Two Days Before the Day After Tomorrow

    • Oct 19 2005

In "Two Days Before The Day After Tomorrow", the fear of global warming overtakes the town due to a flood (caused by Stan and Cartman), wiping out the next town over. Instead of Randy having a logical explanation and putting the whole town of South Park at ease, his irrational trait of overreacting just fans the flames of panic. It's safe to say that Randy tends to overreact in most situations, and he's usually loud enough to make everyone around him follow suit.

This episode is a perfect example of Randy's over-reactive nature meeting his ignorance in a situation where if he just stopped and looked at things logically everything would've worked out fine...but where's the fun in that?

Funniest line: "You go outside, and you'll die! Within the hour, the temperature outside will fall to over 70 million degrees below zero!

  • Fantastic Easter Special on Random Best Randy Marsh Episodes On 'South Park'

    (#20) Fantastic Easter Special

    • Apr 04 2007

In a hilarious parody of The DaVinci Code, Randy's part of a secret society sworn to protect the truth about Easter. Known as the "Hare Club for Men", these do-gooders are tasked with upholding the real truths behind classic Easter staples like decorating eggs. The plot of this episode is another example of ridiculousness being played very seriously.

"Fantastical Easter Special" is also one of the few episodes of South Park where Randy is technically in the moral right and isn't doing anything destructive—figuratively speaking. He's actually brave and dutiful for the most part, but it comes off as lighthearted because he spends the entire episode wearing bunny ears and whiskers.

Funniest line: "We have to be careful when we think somebody's onto us. We are all part of a secret society, Stan. A very ancient, very important society of men who follow the way of the Rabbit, and protect the secret of the Easter bunny. We are called... the Hare Club For Men."
