Boasting one of the most suffocating defenses in the league's history, the Ravens left no doubt that they'd earned that title, burying the New York Giants in decisive fashion, with Baltimore's defensive leader, Ray Lewis, earning game MVP honors for his performance and leadership of his defensive mates.

The rematch between the Buffalo Bills and the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl XXVIII was a little prettier than the game they had played just 12 months earlier—but it still ended with Buffalo on the losing end.
Cleaning up a few mistakes they made in the previous matchup, Buffalo failed to slow down Dallas running back Emmitt Smith, who ran for 132 yards and two touchdowns on his way to winning the game MVP trophy. The game ended a stretch of four-straight Super Bowl losses for Buffalo, as well.

Although the league was celebrating its 75th anniversary, football fans weren't treated to a very memorable championship game. With the San Francisco 49ers loaded up with future Hall of Famers and a forceful offense, the San Diego Chargers had little chance of actually pulling off an upset.
As Niners quarterback Steve Young passed it all over the gridiron, throwing for a Super Bowl record six touchdowns, as San Francisco went on to comfortably win this game.

(#6) Super Bowl XXXVII (Tampa Bay Buccaneers Beat Oakland Raiders)
For all intents and purposes, Super Bowl XXXVII was pretty much over by halftime, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers led the Oakland Raiders 20-3 after two quarters thanks to a tremendous defensive effort.
The second half only showed the Bucs were about as good on defense as everyone initially believed, picking off five passes from Raiders quarterback Rich Gannon and returning three for defensive touchdowns. This game was also a nice payback for Tampa head coach Jon Gruden, who had been traded to the team from Oakland the previous offseason.

So how did the Miami Dolphins celebrate their perfect season from the previous year? With a laughable Super Bowl allowing them to repeat as champs, of course.
With Miami quarterback Bob Griese throwing just seven pass attempts for 73 yards, the Dolphins used future Hall of Fame running back Larry Csonka to bully the Minnesota Vikings defenders all day long, as he rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns. The final score wasn't as lopsided as others on this list, but the game itself was pretty poor.

Although the game itself was fairly competitive, Super Bowl XL was an extra large stinker for those who were watching. Seriously, people just forget that this game was ever even played and can't remember what happened in it because it wasn't all that memorable.
Maybe it was because the game was played in Detroit - a rare, cold-weather city to serve as host - or that there weren't many big plays to speak of? Either way, it is mostly remembered for the refs botching a few calls and then Steelers running back Jerome Bettis ending his career with a Super Bowl win in his home town.

Most sports fans remember this one because it involved the Chicago Bears doing their "Super Bowl Shuffle" and the team's massive defender, William Perry, scoring a rushing touchdown.
While the New England Patriots might have been a great underdog story that fans were interested in supporting, the Bears squashed their hopes early, leading 23-3 at halftime before pouring it on in the second half.

After one of the best offensive seasons in NFL history, Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino - who threw for 48 touchdowns and over 5,000 yards in the regular season - laid an egg in Super Bowl XIX against the San Francisco 49ers.
Thanks to a defensive backfield that was as good as any in the league, San Francisco shut Marino down, while quarterback Joe Montana tossed three touchdowns and threw for 331 yards in the win.

While the final tally might not appear as brutal as some of the other games on this list, don't make the mistake of thinking that Super Bowl XI between the Oakland Raiders and Minnesota Vikings was all that close.
With the Raiders leading 16-0 at halftime, Oakland used a potent ground attack to run all over the Vikings, finishing with 266 total rushing yards on their way to the victory.
