  Memorable moments:

  • There was a $1 million prize - the largest in The Challenge history.
  • This season introduced the "Redemption House" where eliminated players got to wait out their chance to fight their way back onto the show - Cara Maria, CT, and Jordan earned redemption.
  • Camila thought she overheard Leroy Garrett talking about her, so she flipped out, yelling racial slurs at him and throwing furniture. But she wasn't sent home. She apologized on social media after the episode aired.

  Winners: Remaining Red Team members - Brad Fiorenza, Dunbar Merrill, Tori Fiorenza, and Tyler Duckworth - won the final.  

  Memorable moments:

  • They brought in Chris "CT" Tamburello and Tina Barta to compete in the Gulag. This resulted in the iconic image of CT using Johnny Bananas as a backpack. 
  • Laurel Stucky got in trouble for drunkenly insulting Eric "Big Easy" Banks on his size, and though she apologized on MTV.com, he confronted her at the reunion special saying she was insincere. 
  • This season famous The Challenge couple Cara Maria Sorbello and Abram Boise got together. 
  • Brad and Tori were the first married couple to compete on The Challenge.

  (#7) The Challenge: War of the Worlds (Season 33)

  • The Challenge

  Host: T.J. Lavin

  Winners: Turabi "Turbo" Çamkıran took first place, winning $750,000.

  Theo Campbell was the runner-up, winning $200,000.

  Wes Bergmann took third place, winning $50,000.

  Memorable moments:

  • This season featured contestants from non-MTV shows, such as The Bachelor Canada, The Bachelorette, Big Brother, Celebrity Big Brother UK, Love Island UK, Survivor Turkey, American Ninja Warrior, Party Down South, and Telenovelas.
  • Kyle Christie and Cara Maria Sorbello's fued was alive and well, with Cara's new boyfriend Paulie Calafiore going after Kyle whenever he could. This also dragged in Kyle's partner Mattie Lynn Breaux. The four went after each other at every opportunity.
  • Hunter Barfield and his parter Georgia Harrison sent Ashley Mitchell and her partner Chase McNary home first as revenge for Ashley taking the full prize on The Challenge: Final Reckoning and leaving him with nothing.
  • Stephen Bear got under everyone's skin, except for Georgia - whom he was dating despite having a girlfriend. Because of this, Hunter started gunning for Bear, even though Georgia immediately forgave him. She ugly cried when he was eventually sent home.

  (#8) The Challenge: Battle of the Exes II (Season 26)

  Winners: Jordan Wiseley and Sarah Rice took first place, winning $250,000.

  Leroy Garrett and Theresa González were the runners-up, taking home $70,000.

  Jay Gotti and Jenna Compono were in third place when they were disqualified, taking home nothing.

  Memorable moments:

  • Jay earned host T.J. Lavin's fury after refusing to drink the gross liquid in the "Don't Flip Your Lid" challenge. His refusal resulted in the team's disqualification, and he and Jenna losing out on $30,000.
  • Beloved vet Diem Brown collapsed during filming and had to be airlifted to a New York hospital, where she was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. She passed away on November 14, 2014. This season of The Challenge was dedicated to her.
  • This season was also dedicated to Ryan Knight, who passed away on November 27, 2014.

  Winners: Johnny Bananas and Camila Nakagawa took home the win, splitting $150,000.

  Chris "CT" Tamburello and Diem Brown won second place, splitting $100,000.

  Ty Ruff and Emily Schromm came in third, splitting $40,000.

  Memorable moments:

  • Mike "The Miz" Mizanin returned to The Challenge to host the season finale as well as the reunion special.
  • When Emily got into a fight with partner Ty, she decided to put on blackface to make fun of him, upsetting her partner and the rest of the cast with the racist action. She continued to insist it wasn't racist and claimed not to know why it was offensive before finally relenting on the reunion show.

  (#10) Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Ruins

  Winners: Remaining "Champions" team members - Derrick Kosinski, Evan Starkman, Johnny Bananas, Kenny Santucci, and Susie Meister - won the $160,000 prize (to be split among them).

  Memorable moments:

  • Wes Bergmann, who had previously been engaged to Johanna Botta, who got with Kenny Santucci on The Island, was on the show with his new girlfriend, KellyAnne Judd. Johanna was on the show, too - as was KellyAnne's ex, Cohutta Grindstaff. 
  • Johanna actually threatened Wes that if threw challenges and cost her money, she would sell their former home (which was in her name), and keep all of the money. 
  • Veronica Portillo got together with Evan Starkman, because she thought it would get her a ticket to the final. It did not.
  • Tonya Cooley, Brad Fiorenza, and Darrell Taylor were all sent home outside of eliminations for fighting.
  • Shauvon Torres said she popped one of her breast implants after belly-flopping into the water in one of the challenges.

  • Kenny and Wes Bergmann famously split the house in two and made everyone choose sides.
  • Ev Smith threw such a fit when she was eliminated that host T.J. Lavin said, "We've never had a four-year-old on this show before."

  Zach Nichols was the runner-up, leaving with a total of $72,125.

  Kyle Christie came in third place, winning $20,625.

  Kailah Casillas took fourth place, winning $25,625.

  Kam Williams, Leroy Garrett, Tony Raines, and Nicole Zanatta were the bottom four. They each got to take home what was already in their bank accounts: Kam, $19,125, Leroy, $0, Tony, $39,625, and Nicole, $26,625.

  Memorable moments:

  • For the first time ever, there was only one winner.
  • This season introduced "grenades," which were given to the winners of the elimination rounds, and used to penalize other players during challenges.
  • The final winner also took home the leftover bank accounts of any eliminated players, in addition to the prize of $370,000.
  • Cara Maria got together with Kyle Christie.

  • Beth Stolarczyk and Tonya Cooley got into a massive fight, resulting in Tonya throwing Beth's clothes into the pool. Beth ended up leaving the show because she said after that she didn't feel safe.
  • Rachel Robinson, Tina Barta, and Veronica Portillo bullied Tonya throughout the season, dubbing themselves "The Mean Girls."

  Nelson Thomas and Camila Nakagawa were the runners-up, winning $15,000.

  Cory Wharton and Nicole Zanatta came in third place, taking home $5,000 each.

  Memorable moments:

  • Kailah Casillas and Cory get together in this season. Kailah is a target the whole season.
  • Hunter Barfield and Ashley start getting cozy. But then Ashley freaks out when she sees Hunter flirting with Cara Maria Sorbello.
  • Host T.J. Lavin calls the elimination in episode three the scariest one ever. Contestants have to grab balls out of a basket, and hold onto them while jumping off of a tiny platform in the jungle, 300 feet down. Theo King-Bradley commits the ultimate faux pas in T.J.'s eyes, and quits because he is too scared.
  •  Nelson and LaToya Jackson get together.
  • Ashley Kelsey and Dario Medrano begin a relationship.
  • On-off couple Jenna Compono and Zach Nichols fight throughout the season as usual.
  • There was a love triangle between Nicole Zanatta, Cara Maria, and Laurel Stucky.
  • A huge altercation breaks out after Camila and Cara Maria put chips under Ashley M. and Amanda Garcia's sheets.

  Memorable moments: 

  • It's evident how old this is, because Johnny Devenanzio was put on the "Good Guys" team, before he became master manipulator Johnny Bananas
  • Chris "CT" Tamburello punched rookie Davis Mallory and was sent home on the first night.

  (#18) Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Gauntlet 2

  Winners: The remaining rookies - Alton Williams, Ibis Nieves, Jamie Murray, Jodi Weatherton, Kina Dean, Landon Lueck, MJ Garrett, Randy Barry, and Susie Meister - won the final challenge, with each rookie taking home $26,666.

  The remaining veterans - Aneesa Ferreira, David Burns, Julie Stoffer, Katie Doyle, Mark Long, Robin Hibbard, and Timmy Beggy - were the runners-up, each leaving with $8,571.

  Memorable moments: 

  • Host T.J. said Jisela Delgado basically quit the game after she volunteered to go into the Guantlet against Ruthie Alcaide and lost.
  • Mark Long announced his retirement from challenges on the reunion special.
  • Beth Stolarczyk quit the "Beach Brawl" wrestling challenge rather than go against Aneesa - though she said it was beause it was "against her morals."
  • T.J. flipped out after Beth quit.

  • A twist is revealed in episode 13, that since they were using the new points system for the final, the partner with the most points can either share the money or take it all for themselves.
  • Johnny Bananas was the only one who opted to steal the money, taking all of the $275,000 for himself and leaving partner Sarah with nothing.

  Winners: The remaining guys - Dan Setzler, Eric Nies, and Theo Vonkurnatowski - won the final challenge, earning $180,000. Each team member took home $60,000.

  Memorable moments: 

  • This was the only time Mike Mizanin was voted off of a challenge.
  • Steven Hill was sent home after slapping teammate Shane Landrum during an argument.
  • Tonya Cooley and Tina Barta got into an argument, which led to a rivalry lasting through Inferno 2 and Fresh Meat. 
  • Eric quit after this challenge.
  • Abram Boise and Coral Smith and Mark Long and Robin Hibbard (and possibly Tonya?) had relationships on this season.
  • Derrick Kosinski got run over with a golf cart on the first night.

  Winners: The men's team - Mark Long, Colin Mortensen, and Jamie Murray - won $150,000, with each team member taking home $50,000. 

  Memorable moments: 

  • David Edwards is the first guy to leave the show of his own volition. 
  • Gladys Sanabria came onto the show pregnant and was barred from doing the "Dean Man's Drop" mission and ultimately voted off the show because of it.
  • David "Puck" Rainey married his girlfriend during the show. He later got kicked off after he trashed The Challenge house. 
  • When Puck got voted off, previously eliminated contestant Dan Renzi was put back into the game.

  • The prize for the final was $1,000,000 and the winning team would take it all. T.J. later revealed that the person with the fastest time could either split the money with their partner or take it all for themselves.
  • Kyle Christie kicked off a feud with Cara Maria Sorbello - who he had been on-off dating - when he started a fling with rookie Faith Stowers on the first night.
  • Ashley solidified her rivalry with Hunter when she chose to take the $1 million herself and not split it with him. Hunter left with nothing.

  Host: This was the only season without a host.

  Winners: The Real World team - Dan Renzi, Jamie Murray, Julie Stoffer, Kameelah Phillips, Rebecca Lord, and Syrus Yarbrough - won $110,000, with each team member taking home a new Toyota Celica and $18,833.

  Memorable moments: 

  • Rebecca and James Orlando began a relationship on this season.
  • The Upright Citizens Brigade (including Amy Poehler and Tina Fey) were judges in the "No Laughing Matter" challenge.
  • LL Cool J and Chris Klein hosted missions.

  Host: David "Puck" Rainey

  Winners: Cynthia Roberts, Eric Nies, Jon Brennan, Rachel Campos, and Sean Duff each won a trip for two to San José, Costa Rica. 

  Memorable moments: 

  • Rachel and Sean fell in love on this season, and went on to get married and have eight kids together. 
  • Cynthia almost leaves the show after finding out that in the cook-off challenge the men fed the women insects.
