It was later reported that he left Girls due to creative differences with creator and star Lena Dunham. Who could have seen that coming?

Dr. Goodman was a recurring character on the hit show Bones in its first season, but he never returned for the second season, It was explained that he went on a three-month sabbatical, though he never returned. Executive producer Hart Hanson said, "We loved Jonathan [Adams] and his performance; we just couldn't use him as a series regular. We were prying him into stories."

Bill Cosby reportedly could not handle the idea of Denise Huxtable being pregnant. She was later invited back to The Cosby Show, but then fired in 1991 for "creative differences."

Case in point: Columbus Short, who portrayed Harrison Wright for three seasons until being arrested for getting into a fight at a restaurant and receiving a restraining from his then-wife. Shortly after, he was written out of the show. Short later claimed that personal loss and drug abuse led to his downward spiral.

While Bachman was often insufferable, the character's antics were integral to Silicon Valley, so his departure left fans baffled. TJ Miller, who portrayed Bachman, initially said the decision was mutual.

However, there appeared to be more to the story. Reports later surfaced alleging Miller was difficult on set, frequently showed up unprepared, was under the influence while filming, and had a bad temper. Even creator Mike Judge acknowledged Miller's behavior caused issues. Miller told a slightly different version of the story during interviews after his departure.
