  • (#1) A Man Hacks Into A Ring Camera In A Girl's Room And Claims To Be Santa Claus

An unknown man hacked into the Ring security camera in an 8-year-old child's room and claimed he was Santa Claus. The LeMay family in Memphis, TN, hoped to use the device to keep an eye on their daughters while they played; it took only a few days for the camera to be hacked.

In the video, the frightened child asks, "Who's this?" when she hears a voice. The man responds that he is her "best friend." He proceeds to prompt her, "I'm Santa Claus. Don't you want to be my best friend?" before she screams for her mom.

The man tries to tell the girl she can do whatever she wants, including break things in her room. No one knows how long he had access to the device.

Ring assured customers they were working on making sure the breach was not related to a companywide hack.

  • A Man Hacks A Ring Account And Speaks To The Family on Random Creepiest Videos Caught By Ring Doorbells

(#2) A Man Hacks A Ring Account And Speaks To The Family

On December 11, 2019, an unidentified man hacked into the Ring doorbell account of a family in Sarpy County, NE, and spoke to the young daughter as she watched TV. Adam Krcilek shared the video, taken from his kitchen, where a disembodied voice can be heard asking, "What are you watching? Hey, what show is that? I've seen that show before. What episode are you on?" to no response.

Once Krcilek enters the room, he hears the voice and eventually disables the camera. Krcilek said that he took down all of his interior cameras, and Ring did not advise him to set up a two-factor verification when he purchased the account six months prior to the incident.

Ring assured customers the company "will continue to introduce additional security features," but that the network was not compromised. At least five families in different states have reported similar experiences.

  • (#3) A Woman Is Heard Screaming For Her Life In Possible Kidnapping

On November 12, 2019, disturbing footage of a woman screaming for help was captured from a Ring doorbell camera on the 3800 block of Third Avenue in the Leimert Park neighborhood of Los Angeles around 11 pm. The police were not aware of the doorbell footage until the following morning, but responded to a report of a possible kidnapping. LAPD officer Mike Lopez said responding authorities could not find evidence of a crime.

After the footage came to light, the LAPD reopened their investigation. The screams were thought to be coming from a white vehicle that drives down the street. A woman is heard yelling, "Somebody help me." A witness claimed she also heard a man say, "I'm sorry."

Detectives continue to search the area, according to TV news station KTLA 5, and requested that anyone with information contact LAPD's Southwest Division at 213-485-6570.

  • A Mysterious Figure Leaves Vintage Television Sets On Front Porches on Random Creepiest Videos Caught By Ring Doorbells

(#4) A Mysterious Figure Leaves Vintage Television Sets On Front Porches

On the night of August 22, 2018, a mysterious figure known as TV Santa Claus left dozens of vintage television box sets on the front porches or residents in Grey Oaks, VA. The perpetrator was never identified and in fact returned one year later, on August 10, 2019. This time, TV Santa Claus was captured by a Ring.com doorbell camera wearing a blue jumpsuit and a television box set over their face.

The unidentified suspect hit more than 50 homes in Henrico County, VA. It is unclear if this is the work of one person, or several people. Police collected the sets the following morning, asking potential victims to report the TVs immediately if it happens again, though they believe it's a harmless prank.

  • (#5) A Man Licked A Doorbell For Three Hours Straight

On January 8, 2019, police started searching for a man in Salinas, CA, who spent three hours licking a doorbell in the middle of the night. The individual in question, Roberto Daniel Arroyo, was easy to track down, thanks to a newly installed surveillance system at the home. The Dungans were not home when Arroyo made his way to their doorbell, but their children were. Arroyo also moved an extension cord in the front yard and relieved himself on camera.

"You kind of laugh about it afterwards because, technically, he didn't harm anybody, he didn't break anything," homeowner Sylvia Dungan told ABC

  • (#6) A Man With An Assault Rifle Rang His Neighbor's Doorbell At 4 AM

On September 10, 2018, a Florida man sporting a bulletproof vest and carrying an assault rifle rang his neighbor's doorbell at four in the morning. The homeowner grabbed her two children and holed up in the bathroom after spotting the man on her security footage. She immediately called the police and her husband, who was out of town for work. Roughly 25 minutes later, the police arrived. The man - whose identity has not been released - faced  aggravated assault charges.

The homeowner said the daughter of the unnamed man had stayed at their home recently, claiming she was afraid of her own father.

  • (#7) A Mysterious Woman Rang This House's Doorbell At 3:30 AM

On August 24, 2018, a resident from the Sunrise Ranch neighborhood in Montgomery, TX, contacted local authorities after a strange woman rang her doorbell in the middle of the night. A partially undressed woman - who appeared to be wearing some sort of hand restraint - rang the bell and left.

Some people believed she was related to local missing persons, but law enforcement do not believe she matches the missing person fliers sent in. Deputies canvassed the area with descriptions of the mysterious woman and asked neighbors if they heard anything.

On August 29, authorities identified the 32-year-old woman only as "Lauren." Police confirmed she was alive after a house call to a home in Sunrise Pines around 11 AM local time. A man in the home threatened suicide, and when authorities arrived, they discovered the 48-year-old man, later identified as Dennis Collins, died from a self-inflicted gunshot. Collin's girlfriend was the mysterious woman. Authorities say she is the victim of domestic violence.

On September 18, Lauren opened up on Inside Editiondetailing how she ended up at the doorbell. She fell asleep next to her boyfriend of four months and woke up to "what seemed like a nightmare."

“I woke up, and he was kneeling on my chest and stuffing some sort of cloths in my mouth,” she said. “I truly felt like I was going to die that night.”

  • (#8) Attempted Door Kick-In

According to this video's description on YouTube, the man in the dark hoodie rang the doorbell around 2 pm, but the home's occupant couldn't hear it because he was wearing headphones.

The man left, but returned with his friend in the white hoodie about 15 minutes later. Presumably, the men believed no one was home. As such, the man in the dark hoodie attempted to kick in the door. The homeowner heard the loud bang and yelled out, scaring the men off his porch. The sound of the attempted burglar's foot hitting the door is especially jarring.

  • (#9) A Massive Fire Erupts Next Door

This homeowner woke up to a horrifying sight on their Ring app - a rapidly spreading fire just a few feet from their front step. In the video's YouTube description, the original poster says an alarming fact about the event:

They might have slept through the entire blaze - and perished in the process - had Ring not alerted them to the movement.

  • (#10) A Strange Man With Strange Claims

In this video, a strange person rings the doorbell and engages in an equally odd conversation with the house's owner, who isn't home and talks to the visitor via a remote speaker system. The man claims he worked for the homeowner's family at one point, possibly cleaning the tiles on the front porch.

When asked what it is the man wants, he never answers fully, but seems eager to get inside the house - only wandering away when he realizes no one is home.

  • (#11) A Terrifying, Invisible Visitor

In this clip, it isn't what you see, but what you hear. Either a prankster possesses a spine-tingling sense of humor, or this house needs an exorcist, pronto.

  • (#12) Matt Doesn't Live Here Anymore

In this video, a man approaches the door, then does something odd: he pretends to knock on the door. We then see him talk to someone waiting in a car off-camera. It quickly becomes obvious he's been put up to doing something by this unseen individual, something he doesn't want to do. After a while, he even fakes a conversation with the homeowner, asking if someone named Matt lives there. He then apologizes and walks away.

Who knows what sort of nefarious deeds might have gone down if this stranger didn't possess a conscience (or an intense fear of getting caught)?

  • (#13) Whatever This Is, It's Freaky

This man - who may be intoxicated - shambles onto the porch, then appears to manhandle the Ring camera for a minute before seeming to jump over a fence. It isn't clear what's happening here, but it's still scary to watch.

  • (#14) A Peculiar Bike Dealer

If you were super desperate for a bicycle and needed it immediately, this random guy showing up on your porch would be a godsend. For everyone else, however, the man's strange hand gestures and sound effects would raise enough red flags to keep that door shut and locked.

  • (#15) He Just Wants To Protect The Home From Rats

If you're scared of snakes, maybe don't watch this video. It shows a large Texas rat snake repeatedly slither along a woman's front door - despite falling from its perch at one point. The big critter really wants in that house.

  • (#16) A Strange Light Streak

In the left corner of the screen, a long and fast streak of light whips around the camera's lens. Maybe it's a bug... or perhaps it's something paranormal.

  • (#17) Mystery Phantom Leaves A Nightmare On The Porch

Many of the clips on this list feature sketchy people actively attempting to break into homes, or creepy-crawly visitors setting off the Ring camera's motion sensors. Eerie, yet explainable. But this video plays out like something from a David Lynch movie. Watch as a strange figure walks out of frame, leaving something on the porch. Then, watch that something seem to grow and inflate, as a dog barks and a car speeds away in the background. Chills.

  • (#18) A Carpet Cleaner's Van Goes Up In Flames

It was just a typical day in the suburbs - that is until this carpet cleaner's van caught fire. The source of the blaze isn't apparent in the video, but it causes something in the vehicle to explode. Thankfully, the local fire brigade arrives in time to douse the flames before anything else ignites.
