  • (#1) Landers And Kruspe Kissed Onstage To Show Support For LGBTQ+ Rights

In July 2019, at a concert in Moscow, Russia, guitarists Paul Landers and Richard Kruspe shared a kiss onstage while playing their song "Ausländer." The moment was in direct protest of Russia's anti-LGBTQ+ laws, one of which was passed by Vladimir Putin in 2013.

The law condemns any materials that "[present] distorted ideas about the equal social value of traditional and non-traditional sexual relationships." Violators of the law may be taken into custody and detained, though Landers and Kruspe have not suffered any reported consequences for their show of LGBTQ+ support.

(#9) Till Lindemann And Flake Lorenz Were Arrested After A Concert

While performing the song "Buck Dich" during a concert in Worcester, MA, singer Till Lindemann simulated banging from behind with keyboardist Flake Lorenz using a fake phallus. While though both men remained fully clothed during the act, they were arrested for "lewd and lascivious behavior" on June 5, 1999, before being released the next day.

  • Richard Kruspe Had A Kid With Till Lindemann's Ex on Random Crazy Stories Of Rammstein, That Band Every Dude In High School Loved

(#10) Richard Kruspe Had A Kid With Till Lindemann's Ex

Many people mistakenly believe that 26-year-old Khira Li Lindemann is Till Lindemann's daughter. Actually, she's Richard Kruspe's daughter; she got the name because Kruspe had a child with Lindemann's ex-wife, who was still going by her married name. Confusing? Slightly, but that's Rammstein for you.

  • Till Lindemann Almost Participated In The Olympics on Random Crazy Stories Of Rammstein, That Band Every Dude In High School Loved

(#11) Till Lindemann Almost Participated In The Olympics

Rammstein's lead singer wasn't always a musician. Till Lindemann started off as a professional swimmer, and almost represented the GDR (German Democratic Republic) during the 1980 Moscow Olympics. Unfortunately, he was booted off the team because he went to look around Florence during the competition without permission, and also because his scores weren't impressive enough.

According to Lindemann, he wasn't enjoying the process anyway, as he told Playboy

"It was horrible. When I still was in the swimming team I had swum 30 kilometres a day, getting up at five in the morning and in the evening I went to bed totally knackered. Now I had so much time to spend in the quarter with the cheap built houses and had to start fights to be accepted. And to drink lots of Schnapps, that counted."

  • Lindemann Faked Being On Fire During Over 20 Concerts on Random Crazy Stories Of Rammstein, That Band Every Dude In High School Loved

(#4) Lindemann Faked Being On Fire During Over 20 Concerts

Rammstein uses a lot of pyrotechnics in their performances, so accidentally setting band members on fire isn't exactly implausible. In fact, Till Lindemann actually did scorch his leg during one performance. After that, he started wearing fireproof clothing, but he pretended otherwise on at least 20 occasions. In an interview with Playboy he said:

"One time the fans really thought I was burning: we made up a scene like I was having an accident and my leg was burning. Flake came with a fire extinguisher, but it contained a flammable powder. I was in flame, the music ended, the lights in the room went on. I rolled on the stage and assistants came with real fire extinguishers. We did that on 20 shows, but had to stop, because fans considered it to be too much and complained in the Internet. They were really shocked."

  • They Used A Phallus-Like Cannon On Stage on Random Crazy Stories Of Rammstein, That Band Every Dude In High School Loved

(#14) They Used A Phallus-Like Cannon On Stage

During a particularly memorable live performance at Madison Square Garden, Till Lindemann rode around the stage on a phallic-shaped canon while singing the band's song "P*ssy." The cannon shot white foam at the audience, and just as the song was about to end, streamers dropped from the ceiling.

During the same concert, Lindemann wore 20-foot-wide steel angel wings that shot fire from the tips. Talk about a mood shift.
