One anecdote details David Miscavage's failed attempt to please the actor by building a field of wildflowers in the middle of the desert:

Miscavige heard about the couple’s [Cruise and Kidman] fantasy of running through a field of wildflowers together, so he had members [of Sea Org, a unit of Scientology] plant a section of the desert with them; when that failed to meet his expectations, the meadow was plowed and sodded with grass. When a flood triggered a mudslide that despoiled a romantic bungalow specially constructed for the couple, Miscavige held the entire base responsible and ordered everyone to work 16-hour days until everything was restored.

It's rumored Cruise may leave so that he's able to see his daughter again. Star reports Scientologists could harm Cruises' reputation should he separate himself from the organization because they collect information on their members during audit session. In these sessions, Scientologists are forced to reveal secrets. An insider told the publication:

Katie would be thrilled to see Tom leave Scientology, she would love to have him build a healthy relationship with Suri. It'd be a dream come true actually, but she is not expecting it. She has zero hope Tom will leave Scientology for Suri — he has made it clear many times that he is in it for life ... People change, and they leave, so it is possible Tom will walk away, but it is very slim, and she knows it. It breaks Katie's heart Suri does not have a relationship with Tom, there is a hole in her life because of it — he's missed.
