"I work with amazing people that I love, that I’ve been working for ten years, so I would never not want to work with them. It’s an amazing job I’ve had for so many years and I would love to [keep going]," Winter, now 21, said in an interview prior to the eleventh and final season.

At the age of 63, Ed O'Neill reinvented himself as Jay Pritchett, the patriarch of the Pritchett Family on Modern Family. He has played the character throughout all eleven seasons.
O'Neill previously played another famous TV dad as Al Bundy in Married... with Children. He also appeared in such films as Wayne's World, Dutch, and The Bone Collector.

"I don’t think any of us were expecting to have the impact that it did."

Julie Bowen was 39 in 2009 when Modern Family premiered, making her 50 years old when they filmed the season 11 finale.
In a 2019 US Weekly interview, Bowen explained that filming the final season has been emotional.
"That first day I just couldn’t get my breath," said Bowen. “I kept sobbing. It was sort of the beginning of the end. Now we’re in the groove it’s hard to imagine. It’s like your last year of college or something you’re like, you’re almost done. You’re like ‘Really? it doesn’t feel like it. Talk to me after I finish that final exam and then I’ll be sobbing.'”
