    Ben and Leah’s YouTube travel series Kombi Life is full of highs and lows, as the couple lives and travels the world in a vintage Volkswagen Kombi, even picking up hitchhikers along the way.

    "Overlanding the road-less-traveled since 2011, we’re documenting life as we slept with over 100 hitch-hikers on the Pan-American Highway, witnessed murder, broken down on an erupting volcano, been stranded more often than we care to admit, temporarily banished from the USA, and had our entire home burn down, then fully restored it and gave it away to one of our followers," they wrote on their Facebook. 

    The Kombi Life gives you a real look at what it's like to travel and live out of your van, documenting even the inconvenient and less-than-glamorous aspects of van life.

    Jennelle Eliana became an instant viral YouTube sensation in 2019, after posting just one YouTube video. The 21-year-old is a solo female van dweller who travels around California with her pet snake, Alfredo. After releasing her first video in June of 2019, giving a tour of her van home, Eliana gained over 1 million followers in less than a month.

    Then, in July of that year, with just three videos posted, her channel was the most subscribed to YouTube channel in America. Now Eliana has over 2 million subscribers and counting!

    Eliana’s channel highlights her daily van life, exploring her home state of California. The YouTuber most recently announced her goal to become a “super shredder” by mastering skateboarding, surfing, and snowboarding; which she says she will focus a portion of her channel on. She also recently purchased a 1991 Toyota Hiace RV from Japan as her next home, and plans to do an entire build series of the remodeling process.

    Alexandria Tejas is a solo female traveler who has lived in vehicles since 2014, including cars, jeeps, and vans. Her YouTube channel features videos highlighting her different homes on wheels, and how she survives on the road.

    She also shares tips and tricks, how to's, cost breakdowns, Q&As, and more. She frequents campsites and National Parks around the U.S. Some of the places she’s been include Wyoming, Kentucky, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and California. Her latest vehicular home is a Honda Civic.

    Dylan Magastar went from backpacking in South America to van dwelling to living on a sailboat. His channel FLORB, which fittingly stands for “floating orb,” is dedicated to alternative living spaces of all kinds, whether on land, water, or even in trees.

    Magastar and his team (Jackson Peters, Sitara Shakti, and Adrian Pop) highlight people living in unique dwellings on the channel of over 600,000 subscribers. While the majority of videos feature vandwellers, the channel also highlights tiny homes, tree houses, boat homes, and more.

    Trent & Allie travel and live in their camper van with their dog, Frank. A couple that likes to hike and mountain bike, the channel is very outdoorsy and nature focused. The couple has been to breathtaking locations like Machu Picchu, The Andes Mountains, and The Floating Islands of Lake Titicaca.

    This channel focuses on the ups and downs of van life. They don't just glorify the great parts of the lifestyle, but also show the very ugly parts as well, such as safety, theft, car troubles, and how van life affects their relationship for better and worse.

    Mat and Danielle downsized from a four-bedroom house to a camper van in 2012, and never looked back. For eight years the couple has lived the van life, and their YouTube Channel Exploring Alternatives focuses on their adventures, along with the alternative living lifestyles of others they’ve met on their journey.

    Mat and Danielle’s channel promotes minimalism and how to “live large with less.” Their mission is to inform and show people how to live a fulfilling lifestyle with a smaller environmental footprint.     The Jinti Fell channel features an Australian vegan family of four traveling the world while living in a bus. Jinti and Chris started their life on wheels in a Ford Transit Van in 2016, and now they live with their two children in a converted school bus.

    Their channel has grown to over 468,000 subscribers, and focuses on what it’s like to be a family with small children navigating this lifestyle. Videos include daily family routines and day in the life vlogs. Jinti gives a lot of insight as to what it’s like going from having one small child in a van, to being pregnant on the road, to adjusting to two children in this alternative living space.

    There’s even a video of the water birth of the couple’s second child. The channel also puts a focus on living a clean, vegan lifestyle. If you want to learn what it’s like to live the van life with a family, this is the channel.

    Van life couple Theo and Bee live in their self-converted Sprinter Van full-time with their cat Ginjey Bear. They share their journey with 214,000 YouTube subscribers. The couple is from the United Kingdom, and have a goal of driving around the world in their van, while working on building a homestead on their land in Portugal.

    Even more interesting, they’re being featured on a BBC six-episode show called Win The Wilderness: Alaska, where six British couples compete to survive in the Alaskan wilderness to win an off-the-grid home. The Indie Projects is a wholesome channel about your typical van life couple living their dreams.

    Kaylee, Jordan, and pup Lola are nomads living in a converted school bus. The couple’s channel, The Nomadic Movement, is very focused on travel and documents their life around the globe. Some of the places they’ve been include Guatemala, Panama, Mexico, Alaska, and Spain. The couple’s love for tiny homes is very apparent on this channel as well, with numerous videos of Kaylee giving tours of tiny houses in different places.

    Recently the couple, originally from the U.S., decided to buy land and set some roots in Panama, with the goal of building a tiny house homestead community there. So, naturally, a good amount of their content lately has been focused on that process, including buying the land and building their new tiny home.

    Max is from Australia, and Lee is from Canada, and some of their travel destinations include Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Colombia. Some of their video content includes the couple’s van being taken by U.S. customs, getting lost in the Colombian desert, and taking their van to the world’s largest salt flats.

    Sara and Alex live in a converted Sprinter van with their son Vance, and two dogs, Bambi and Nugget. Their channel is very aesthetically pleasing, focusing a lot on the specifics of van conversions and customizations inside and out.

    But the channel highlights people from all walks of life living on the road, and features van tours, builds, and day in the life videos. Some of the people featured include a network engineer working remotely, a traveling family, an adventure photographer, a rock climber, and a traveling writer; showing that the van life can fit with any lifestyle.

    Susi Cruz is a solo female traveler out of Germany, living in a pink Volkswagen van with her dog. Her van life stems from her desire for adventure and interest in traveling the world to learn about other cultures and lifestyles. Cruz is big on emphasizing the importance of enjoying life.

    Cruz covers it all on her channel, from van life tips and tricks to day in the life vlogs and anecdotal videos. Since Cruz converted and customized her van on her own multiple times, learning as she went, there are plenty of van conversion videos.
