How They're Made: Border Collie + Pit Bull = Border Collie Pit

If you take an American Pit Bull Terrier and cross it with a Border Collie, you're going to wind up with a high-energy puppy that can grow as tall as 24" and reach a weight of around 58 lbs.

Their bodies are sturdy and they are playful dogs that work well in family homes with children, as they love to play and run. Unfortunately, they don't often get along with other dogs, which can make keeping them behaved a challenge in dog-heavy communities.

Border Collie Pits are also highly intelligent and take to training well, but they should be monitored when playing with children, as they can nip, which is playful for them, but dangerous for children.

  • (#2) Alaskan Pit Bull

How They're Made: Alaskan Malamute + Pit Bull = Alaskan Pit Bull

Pit Bulls are generally loyal and playful dogs, so combining them with an Alaskan Malamute tends to result in a dog packed with the stamina and strength of a Malamute and the loyalty and obedience of a Pit.

Alaskan Pit Bulls can grow up to 26" in height and weigh in at around 80 lbs. They love to run and play outdoors and need a lot of room for exercise and the burning off of their immense store of energy. They require an owner who is firm with them, but they can be trained and make for great family pets.

How They're Made: Beagle + Pit Bull = Beagle Bull

Beagles are well-known for being playful pups, while Pit Bulls are known for being protective and loyal to their owners. When you combine the two into a Beagle Bull, you get the best of both worlds: a loyal and playful medium-sized dog.

They tend to look more like a Pit than a Beagle, though their ears and coloring usually lean more towards the Beagle side of the family. They make for fun and engaging pets, but they must be properly socialized and trained to be good members of society.

How They're Made: Golden Retriever + Pit Bull = Golden Bull

Golden Retrievers are loyal and intelligent dogs, but so are Pits, which means a pairing of the two makes for an incredibly loyal and loving animal called a Golden Bull. They make great pets for families of all sizes, and they tend to get along well with children.

When they are in a happy home, they make their humans their number one priority. These mixes are relatively common, so you can usually find them in a shelter without having to go to the trouble of breeding one yourself.

How They're Made: Dalmatian + Pit Bull = Pitmatian

When you cross a Pit Bull and a Dalmation, the result is the Pitmation, which is a dog that resembles the Dalmation much more than the Pit. They tend to have the ears of a Pit, and some of the facial features, but the Dalmation is often the dominant gene in this puppy's pool.

These dogs are highly energetic and loyal. They need to be trained and socialized, but above all else, they need attention. They can develop anxiety issues if left alone for long periods of time, which leads to destructive behavior, and nobody wants that.

  • (#6) Pitador

How They're Made: Labrador + Pit Bull = Pitador

Combining a Labrador and Pit Bull results in a Pitador (sometimes called a Labrabull). They are considered a designer breed, but can be found in shelters all over. They are medium-sized and highly energetic pups, who make for loyal pets.

They tend to be affectionate and have a sweet disposition, but you should have some experience in dog ownership before trying one of these guys in your home. They are highly protective and loyal to their families, so proper training and socialization is a must.

How They're Made: Bulldog + Pit Bull = Bullypit

Pit Bulls and Bulldogs are both intelligent dogs, so a combo of the two makes for an easily trainable dog capable of being a watchdog or a great family pet. They are relatively large in terms of Pit mixes, and they can live up to 13 years, which is fairly long for either of these breeds.

They tend to have a happy demeanor and cheerful personality, which makes them wonderful pets. They aren't aggressive and can be trained to be obedient to everyone living in the home. Bullypits do require a lot of attention to keep them happy, so don't adopt one if you can't spend a ton of time playing with them throughout the day.

How They're Made: Husky + Pit Bull = Pitsky

Pitsky's are common mixes that can be found all over the place, as they are intentionally bred for their most impressive quality: they are absolutely adorable! From puppy to full-grown adult, a Pitsky just exudes cuteness, and this makes them highly desirable as pets.

They tend to take the traits and qualities of both, which means they tend to be highly intelligent, overly affectionate, and a great guard dog. They require socialization and training, but they take to it easily enough and make for excellent companions.

Another rare mix is the Pisset, the product of a Basset Hound and Pit Bull. These dogs aren't exactly designer dogs and tend to pop up in the wild when a couple of pups get frisky. Still, they can be found in shelters from time to time.

Pissets tend to look more like their Basset Hound parent than the Pit, but they do retain some of their characteristics. Overall, they are loyal and friendly dogs that work great with families, though they need to be socialized and properly trained.

    How They're Made: Dachshund + Pit Bull = Dox-Bull

Putting a Daschund and Pit Bull together makes for an interesting combination of the two. A Dox-Bull (sometimes called a Pitwee) is an energetic dog filled with intelligence and obedience.

They live as long as 12 years and can be excellent pets, as they are highly loyal to their owners. They must be trained and socialized properly, as they can be wary of new people. They also require a great deal of exercise to remain healthy, so taking them for walks or letting them run in a park is good for their overall development and health.

  • (#11) Pitweiler

How They're Made: Rottweiler + Pit Bull = Pitweiler

The two dogs that are most often identified as dangerous are the Pit Bull and Rotweiller. Unfortunately, when you breed the two, they produce one of the cutest animals around. These dogs have the same traits of their parents, which include guarding, tracking, obedience, and agility.

Pitweillers can live for up to 15 years, and they are muscular and well-balanced dogs. They take to training and socialization well enough, so all they need is some TLC for them to be excellent companions and faithful dogs for any family.

  • (#12) Pitoxer

How They're Made: Boxer + Pit Bull = Pitoxer

Crossing a boxer with a pit bull results in a Pitoxer (also know as a Bullboxer), and they tend to retain the look of both parents in a mixed way. The result is a medium to large dog that is incredibly intelligent, loyal, and friendly.

They must be socialized and trained properly, or they will become aggressive towards outsiders, to make sure to keep them obedient, or their more aggressive qualities could come to the surface. They also have an intense amount of energy and require a great deal of room to run around and play.

How They're Made: Greyhound + Pit Bull = Greybull Pit

A Greybull Pit will often take on the appearance of a Greyhound's long body, but retain the physical characteristics of the pit with the same pointy ears, large smile, and coloring. They can stand as high as 30" and reach a weight of up to 85 lbs.

These mixes make for great companions, but they need constant love and attention, or they are prone to develop anxiety issues. You also need to ensure they are constantly entertained, as they are intelligent and affectionate pups who need to remain engaged.

They have a strong prey drive, so you need to ensure you don't adopt one of these puppies in a house with small animals, or the Greybull Pit may be the only pet around after a little while...

They are strong and active dogs who need proper training and socialization to be good pets. They are also incredibly loving dogs and will be obedient and loyal to their family throughout their whole life.

If there were ever two breeds most people thought wouldn't make for a good mix, it's the Chihuahua and Pit Bull. When you put the two together, the resulting Chipit is an insanely adorable dog that's easy to train (so long as the more dominant genes come from the pit).

They get along well with children, but in a twist, you should monitor the playtime because kids could easily hurt the Chipit, rather than the other way around. They are intensely loyal dogs that are easy to maintain and enjoy in a family setting.

How They're Made: Great Pyrenees + Pit Bull = Pyrenees Pit

The Great Pyrenees is one of the largest breeds of dogs, but when they are paired with an American Pit Bull Terrier, they produce a much smaller puppy. These dogs can grow to 27" in height and weigh in at as much as 90 lbs.

Their bodies tend to look more like the Pyrenees parent than the Pit, but the facial features resemble the Pit more than the Pyrenees. Both dogs are instinctively protective, and they make great guard dogs, so a combination of the two produces one loyal pup. This makes for a dog that's fiercely loyal and affectionate to their owners, but aggressive and dangerous to anyone else if they aren't properly socialized.

These dogs are packed with muscle and energy, so they require a lot of attention and room to run around and play. They tend to look more like their Pit parent than the Spaniel, and they can be easily trained by beginners. Unfortunately, they can develop anxiety if left alone for long periods of time, which can result in some destructive behavior.

  • (#18) Cattle Pit

How They're Made: Australian Cattle Dog + Pit Bull = Cattle Pit

The Chow Chow is one of the oldest breeds alive today, and once they are combined with an American Pit Bull Terrier, they produce a Pitchow. They look more like a Pit Bull than most mixes, and if you shaved their coat, it would be hard to pick out the Chow Chow characteristics.

They can grow to about 55 lbs. and they can be playful and full of energy. They can be nervous around new people, and they don't often like other dogs in their spaces. They aren't great to have around children, as they can become annoyed by them, so keep an eye on them when the kids are nearby. For the most part, they aren't overly aggressive... they would rather be left alone than play with kids.

They tend to look like either of their parents, so there's a lot of variation in their color and skin, which can be tight or wrinkly, depending on the parents.

Bordeaux Pitbulls can be challenging to train, as both breeds are stubborn. They are intelligent, but it takes a firm and steady hand for even the most experienced trainer. Because they are large and strong, they should be observed when interacting with children.

  • (#22) Boston Pit

How They're Made: Boston Terrier + Pit Bull = Boston Pit

The Boston Pit is a designer dog that was only recently brought into the world. They tend to favor the overall look of a Boston Terrier but retain the muscular physique of a Pit Bull. This results in what looks like a larger Boston Terrier with a solid frame.

These dogs require a lot of daily exercise and need to be engaged and played with multiple times a day. They need a lot of space to run, so plan for that if you're looking to adopt.

  • (#24) Shepherd Pit

How They're Made: German Shepherd + Pit Bull = Shepherd Pit

Like most Pit mixes, they can be lovable and loyal dogs so long as they are properly trained and socialized. They tend to keep a lot of their Pit Bull characteristics, and somewhat resemble a massive version of a Pit, which makes them somewhat frightening to behold. That's a shame because they are well-known for being loving and affectionate dogs.

They are constantly on the alert for anyone unknown coming to their home, so expect them to go nuts when someone rings the doorbell. In fact, these dogs effectively replace doorbells due to their attentive nature. They can grow up to 30" and weigh as much as 100 lbs., so they're not as big as Great Danes, but they are still very much a large dog.

Pubgulls are active dogs and are generally amiable, but if their Pit parent is aggressive, that trait can be passed down to these pups. They require a lot of exercise and running around, but they get along with families in small spaces due to their limited size.
