    Friday, October 8, 2010 - In honor of what would have been the day before John Lennon's 70th birthday, Google posted a logo featuring an image of Lennon, with a "play" button in place of the "e". If a user clicked on the button, a YouTube video honoring Lennon's life played to his tune "Imagine." This Doodle was favorably received for honoring Lennon's birthday, not his death.

For this one, Google had a 3D fullerene as one of it's "o"s, and as the user would run over it with his or her mouse, it would spin as if pushed by the cursor.
