But Basara cares about his new sisters too much to go back to his old ways. Instead, he forms a contract with Mio in order to protect them from Heroes and other threats.

After Arata Kasuga's hometown is destroyed by the mysterious Breakdown Phenomenon, he manages to restore an artificial version of it using a grimoire from his cousin Hijiri Kasuga. A demon named Lilith Asami appears and demands that he forfeit either the grimoire or his life.
Arata isn't into either option. Instead, he seizes the opportunity to attend Royal Biblia Academy. There, he joins up with six other magic users, including Lilith herself. Together, the seven of them work to improve their powers, restore Arata's hometown, and save Hijiri.
Like High School DxD, Trinity Seven features the school setting, supernatural elements, a harem set-up, and tons of fan service. -

In the world of Date A Live, beings called Spirits are capable of causing devastating space quakes that take millions of lives in one shot. The only thing that can stop them? Taking them out on a date and getting them lovey dovey enough to accept a kiss. That's where Itsuka Shido comes in. He seems like an ordinary high school boy, but when it comes to dating Spirits, he's a master.
How is this anime similar to High School DxD? Both series feature immensely powerful women who still have room in their hearts for love from a seemingly regular guy.

One thing you might be looking for in shows like High School DxD is a seemingly ordinary male protagonist whose latent powers are awakened by a group of gorgeous women with supernatural origins.
Instead of the hapless Issei, Sekirei follows Minato Sahashi, a student who failed his college entrance exams twice. His studies are interrupted by a beautiful alien named Musubi who crashlands into his life - literally. Musubi is a Sekirei, an extraterrestrial species known for awakening the Ashikabi gene in humans with a kiss.
Once Musubi kisses Minato and awakens his gene, Minato finds himself participating in high-risk competitions alongside his new partner as part of the Sekirei Plan. At first, it seems like fun, but it turns out that these battles have much higher stakes than Minato could have imagined.

(#6) So, I Can't Play H?
Just like Iseei Hyodo, Ryousuke Kaga has a dirty mind, and his classmates don't exactly love that about him. When Ryousuke meets a Soul Reaper named Lisara Restall, his life changes in much the same way that Issei's did when he met Rias Gremory.
Lisara is looking for a magical person known as the One. To do so, she needs energy. Ryousuke has plenty of sexual energy, which is good enough for Lisara. The two form a bizarre contract that lets Lisara siphon Ryousuke's passion and use it for her own purposes. In exchange, Ryousuke gets to enjoy lascivious encounters, and learn some unexpected things about the world around him.

(#7) High School of the Dead
High School of the Dead has more in common with High School DxD than just the fact that they both have the words 'high school' in their title. Both are violent series that deal with supernatural creatures, and have a strong focus on fanservice.
The cast of this anime must escape from a school that's been overrun with zombies. To survive, some work together. Other unfortunate souls are forced to destroy their former friends, while some malicious people use the situation to manipulate others. Once they escape, they discover that it's not just their school that's been overtaken - it's the whole world.

(#8) Rosario + Vampire

Thanks to his terrible grades, Tsukune Aono can't get into a regular school. The only place that will accept him is Youkai Academy, a boarding school filled with vampires, succubi, yuki-onna, and other supernatural beings. Being a human at this school is dangerous because any human caught on its grounds risks execution.
Tsukune will have to somehow keep his identity a secret, which won't be easy - especially not with all the romantic attention he's getting from the beautiful paranormal ladies at his school. While Issei gets involved in the world of demons through a slightly different method in High School DxD, he has plenty of comparable encounters with them.

(#9) To Love-Ru

16-year-old Rito Yuuki is trying to figure out how to confess to his crush when his life is disrupted by a naked girl named Lala Satalin Deviluke crash landing out of the sky. It turns out that Lala is an alien princess who has fled her home planet in order to avoid a political marriage. She decides she's marrying Rito instead - and she's not the only alien who's interested.
Like High School DxD, To Love-Ru is a supernatural harem comedy with plenty of fan service. If you like one, you'll probably like the other.

After Ayumu Aikawa is slain in a suspicious house, a necromancer named Eucliwood Hellscythe revives him as a zombie. Determined to find the one who took his life, Ayumu sets off on a journey. Things soon get even weirder than they already were after he meets a magical girl with a chainsaw and accidentally absorbs her powers. To make up for it, he'll have to spend his immortality fighting beasts called Megalo.

When an alien race called the Novas attacks humankind, their only hope lies in genetically modified humans known as Pandoras and Limiters. A Limiter named Kazuya Aoi attends West Genetics military academy. There, he encounters Satellizer el Bridget, a Pandora known as the "Untouchable Queen." Despite her reputation, Kazuya is drawn to her because she resembles his deceased sister. He hugs her, and surprisingly, she accepts the hug. This sparks a partnership between the two.
Just like High School DxD, this show combines action with romance and fan service. -
(#12) Heaven's Lost Property

Tomoki Sakurai has been dreaming about angels ever since he was a child. Since those dreams make him cry, his friend Sohara Mitsuki is concerned enough to elicit help from Eishirou Sugata, a sky-obsessed guy who recruits them into the New World Discovery Club. There, they try to learn about a floating phenomenon that no one understands. But Tomoki gets a firsthand taste of this new world when a strange girl named Ikaros falls out of the sky and declares that he's her master.
Ikaros' relationship with Tomoki is almost the inverse of Rias' with Issei. While Ikaros is an angel who submits to Tomoki, Rias is a demon who is the boss of the relationship.

(#13) Haganai: I Don't Have Many Friends

Love High School DxD but wish it were focused a more on the character's emotions than on demon battles? Haganai might be right up your alley.
This harem comedy follows Kodaka Hasegawa, a high school student who has a bad reputation because his natural hair color makes his classmates think he's a delinquent. He's just about given up on finding friends when he meets another lonely person named Yozora Mikazuki. Together, the two of them start the Neighbor's Club, a group dedicated to bringing the school's oddest figures together and helping them make friends.

(#14) Prison School

Just like High School DxD, Prison School features dirty-minded male characters who find themselves surrounded by girls who veer between sexy and sadistic.
Hachimitsu Private Academy was once a prestigious all girls school. When it starts enrolling boys, those boys have trouble fitting in. They soon give up on making friends and set their sights on spying on the girls while they bathe. The academy has a unique punishment - a literal in-school prison, run by female classmates who don't seem to know what limits are.

(#15) Mahou Sensei Negima!
To become a master wizard, 10-year-old Negi Springfield just has to pass one more test - teaching English at an all-girls boarding school while also not revealing that he's a wizard. This is a pretty weird job for a 10-year-old, but it only gets weirder once Negi earns the hatred of one of his students, Asuna Kagurazaka. Thanks to unforeseen circumstances, the two end up having to work together to deal with evil wizards and other problems.
Though different from High School DxD in many ways, it's still a great show to watch if you love comedy with a harem twist. It probably doesn't hurt that Negi has nearly the same hairstyle as Issei.

(#16) Beelzebub

Both High School DxD and Beelzebub feature cool demons with incredible powers. Otherwise, they're pretty different - but Beelzebub might appeal to High School DxD fans.
Tatsumi Oga is the top fighter in a school notorious for his deliquents. The last thing he ever imagined himself doing is taking care of a baby, but he ends up doing just that after an unexpected encounter with the son of the Demon Lord. Soon, he not only has to deal with Baby Beelzebub, but also the kid's demon maid Hildegard, and a ton of other dangerous demonic foes.

As a slice of life rom-com, Love Hina is more grounded in reality than High School DxD, but the show is worth watching if you love harems. It's one of the classics of the genre.
When Keitaro Urashima was a kid, he promised his childhood friend that they'd attend Tokyo University together. But there are two problems. The first is that he doesn't remember who his friend is. The second is that his grades are abysmal. Hoping it'll help him study, he moves into his aunt's boarding house. But all the girls living there make his life a whole lot more complicated. Will he be able to study? And will he ever figure out who his childhood friend is?

(#18) Tsukihime, Lunar Legend
High School DxD might be famous for its fan service, but it also has an intriguing plot. If you're looking for an anime with similar themes that you don't want to switch off when someone walks in on you watching it, try Lunar Legend Tsukihime.
When he wakes up in the hospital, Shiki Toono discovers that he can see invisible lines that consist of all matter in Shingetsutan. When the lines are broken, destruction ensues.
He has a strange encounter with a vampire princess. He imagines himself taking her life, but then she appears the next day to save him from two demon dogs. The two pair up to discover the mystery behind the lines, solve a string of murders, and discover their connection to one another.

(#19) Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt
Panty and Stocking used to be angels, but they got kicked out of Heaven for terrible behavior. If they want to buy their way back, they'll have to do their time on Earth fighting ghosts. But they won't do it the conventional way - instead they turn their lingerie into weapons - that is, when they can be bothered to fight at all. Stocking would much rather eat, while Panty prefers trailing after men.
Though not exactly the same vibe as High School DxD, both shows feature demons and angels, and both feature plenty of jokes about human sexuality.

(#20) Urusei Yatsura
Looking for an old-school anime that's like High School DxD? You might want to watch Urusei Yatsura. Though perhaps not as explicit as DxD, it's still a romantic comedy filled with good-looking non-human women and lecherous human guys.
Ataru Moroboshi is selected to fight a group of alien invaders called the Oni on behalf of humankind. His opponent is Lum, an alien princess who is defeated when he rips off her bikini top. Though Lum is angry at first, she changes her mind when she mistakenly concludes that Ataru wants to marry her. That's when his troubles really begin.
