  Thing is though, they have polar opposite personalities and beliefs, which is enough to squash any friendship in the real world. Mulder is open to virtually any and every type of urban legend, while Scully is steadfast in her convictions that science can prove or disprove any evidence of the supernatural.

  They say "keep your friends close, but your enemies closer." In the case of Serena van der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf from The CW's Gossip Girl, it's hard to imagine these two being anything but the latter.

  They two high school socialites have seen countless ups and downs, most of which only ever generated more friction between the two. As a result, these two are more like "frenemies" than anything else, which may mirror some relationships in real life, but not healthy ones.

  If anything, humanity would simply distract an invasion of Morks with something shiny before hopping aboard their own spaceships to get as far away from them as possible. Most of us don't have the saint-like patience to teach our parents how to convert a Word doc into a PDF, so one can only imagine the cosmic (and truly unbelievable) level of affection Mindy develops for Mork to show him literally everything on Earth.

  It's one thing to keep ragging on your friends, but it's something else to continuously openly insult them, which is the primary dynamic between Sheldon Cooper and Leonard Hofstadter. In several instances, a small fight between the two erupts into situations that would destroy real-world friendships. 

  Just take "The Bus Pants Utilization" or "The Viewing Party Combustion" episodes, for example. Small moments snowball into big-scale fights that, in real life, would certainly create a lasting rift that - like an actual black hole created by the actual Big Bang - would only get stronger and stronger before it completely devoured them both.

  We all have that one friend who loves to push us a little too far, but in the case of Sex and the City's Carrie Bradshaw and Miranda Hobbes, it's hard to believe these two would get to the point where they could even call one another "friend" to begin with.

  Miranda is career-focused and cynical, while Carrie can be impulsive, impractical, and narcissistic, which means these two characters probably wouldn't even be in the same social circles.

  Sure, it's tough to say exactly how cartoon characters would behave in the real world, but in the case of Peter Griffin and Glenn Quagmire, there are some personality quirks that would be hard to overlook. Quagmire's aggressive sexual behavior towards Peter's wife Lois would definitely be a source of contempt - having a friend who's constantly lusting after your wife would certainly cause a couple of buddies to burn bridges.

  Maybe they would see one another at an awkward barbecue among mutual friends every few years, but overall, there's no way these two would be routinely going out for beers.
