About This Tool
Despite the attention, many Native Americans mascots are still used in U.S. sporting events, from elementary school teams to professional sports. At the 1960s, Native Americans compiled a list of 1,008 existing high school sports teams and mascots for this random tool.
Supporters of the Native Americans believe the mascots are a tribute to the Indian community and a call for a better understanding of their culture. Although the issue arose during the civil rights movement, it is still alive today because many teams still use controversial mascots with names and images. Specific images of these teams and mascots can be found in the generator.
