About This Tool
If you look at a map of the Philippines, there are a lot of place names in the Philippines that are more likely to be copied directly from Spanish place names. San Jose de Benevesta on Panay, General Santos City on the southern tip of Mindanao, and, even more interesting, a town in the northeast of Mindanao called Madrid. Easy, because the Philippines was a Spanish colony. A total of 693 place names in the random tool came from the Spanish language.
Since the Spanish had ruled the Republic of the Philippines for more than three centuries, much of the former Spanish colony was named after places in Spain and Latin America. The generator covers the origin of the names of people and objects in Spain. Until now, Spanish is still spoken as a voluntary language in the Philippines.
