Lomax learns that the firm is unlawful in numerous ways, and after some time, he comes to learn his new boss is not only actual evil incarnate, but he's also his father.

  The whole thing is very Faustian and reminiscent of Dante's Inferno and Paradise Lost by John Milton, which is the name the Devil chooses for his human visage on Earth. In terms of his defense tactics, Lomax has the ability to cross-examine a witness to the point of wiping out their credibility. He possesses a keen understanding of the law, and he's quick on his feet.

  Biggest Loss: The People vs. Lloyd Gettys. He wins the case at the beginning of the movie, but at the end, he has the chance to close the case again.
