  • [CERCLIS ID]: TND980729172
    [Name]: Amnicola Dump
    [County]: Hamilton
[Reason]: Former dumping activities led to contamination by pesticides, PAHs, VOCs, heavy metals, PCBs, inorganic compounds and persistent organic pollutants, among other substances. Leachates had elevated levels of organic compounds and groundwater was contaminated by chromium, though municipal wells were unaffected.

About This Tool

The United States Environmental Protection Agency has evaluated brownfield sites across the country, putting them on a “National priority list” of sites likely to cause significant harm to human health and the environment. Since the establishment of the Superfund, about 70 percent of the costs of clearing and restoring brownfield sites in the United States have been paid for by those responsible, with repairs typically lasting between 10 and 20 years. Thankfully, there were 26 brownfield sites in Tennessee, and the detailed list was compiled in a random tool. A portion of the brownfield site has been cleared and removed, under good control.

Each of these “Brownfields” has been put on the priority list for different pollution reasons. You can also see the specific Cerclis ID of each brownfield from the generator, list, city, cause, registration time, processing time, and so on. They have been subjected to different degrees of chemical raw materials, chemical materials, oil, natural gas, and other emissions pollution, for the local environment of the people’s lives has had an important impact.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of Superfund sites in Tennessee.
