Essendon Football Club supplements saga (2013) – in February 2013, the Essendon Football Club, a professional Australian rules football club participating in the Australian Football League (AFL), were investigated by the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) over the legality of its supplements program during the 2012 AFL season and the preceding preseason. In 2011 a snooker player by the name of John Higgins was accused of accepting bribery in order to lose frames purposefully. However, Higgins decided to deny any accusations of match-fixing and bribery, however, he was found guilty of accepting bribery and there was no evidence for him match-fixing.
