We were sent to the same training for work. I'd seen her the previous few days but hadn't spoken to her. A few of us went to the pub at the end of the day and she at was one of them. We started talking there. Eventually everyone else left and it was just us. We spoke for an hour or two. On the way home, I stopped at the bottle shop and bought some beer and went home. When I got home I gave my house mate a beer and said, "Here, have a beer, we're celebrating."
"Celebrating what?" he said. And I said, "I just met the girl I'm going to marry.
We got engaged three months later, married 18 months after that, and celebrated our seven year wedding anniversary last November.

I knew she didn't like me that way, and I was fine with it. Come fall, she was sick and I texted her I was bored just getting off work. She asked if I'd be willing to bring her some ginger ale (she lived about 20 minutes from where I worked) without thinking I got in my car and drove her way. That's when I first really knew. It still took her another month or so of being pestered to finally go out with me. Now three and a half years later we have two dogs and life is pretty great.
