(#2) Employees Have To Compliment Customers - Even If The Compliments Are False
Victoria’s Secret employees really aren't supposed to be honest with customers. If someone asks for an opinion about how a lingerie set looks, for example, the employee is going to say the shopper looks great. The truth is totally irrelevant, unless it's specifically regarding one's bra size.
Consider bringing a tactfully honest friend for feedback when you shop, instead of relying on VS employees.

(#10) They Work In Specific Zones Based On Seniority, And Have To Pass You Off
Where an employee is stationed in the store can tell you a lot about their seniority. Certain zones are for more high-traffic areas, while others are typically higher end. One former employee said while some shoppers would get annoyed they were being passed off to a different employee, there are strict rules about who can help with what.

(#5) Employees Have To Destroy Promotional Ads So People Won't Steal The Pictures
The elaborate window displays in Victoria's Secret are meant to catch the eyes of shoppers wandering the mall. But sometimes, those ads catch the eyes of certain lusty individuals. The company knows that some people enjoy promotional material of lingerie-clad women for scandalous reasons, so employees are encouraged to cut up promo pictures before trashing them to avoid them being "misused."

(#4) Workers Are Often Subject To Harassment
One of the worst things about working at Victoria's Secret is the harassment. Multiple former employees say they constantly faced sexual harassment, and that management forced them to grin and bear it. According to one employee:
One time, a 14-year-old boy who could barely see over the cash wrap informed me he wanted to buy lingerie for his 'future wife' because I looked just like her. Meanwhile, his friend was hiding behind the panty bar filming it on an iPhone. They thought they were hilarious.

(#6) Employees Can't Stop Customers Who Hook Up In Changing Rooms
Most people probably hit up Victoria’s Secret for deals on underwear and bras, but enticing lingerie is a big part of VS inventory, too. Apparently, some customers get overwhelmed by the alluring experience and try to hookup in the changing rooms. The store has a strict one-person-per-room rule, but if a couple manages to slip in, employees can't stop the transgression.
Victoria's Secret staff members have to wait patiently until security arrives.

(#7) Employees Get Minimal Training
Unfortunately, big retail chains are often focused on efficiency rather than spending a lot of time on their employees. Accordingly, Victoria's Secret workers are sometimes put on the floor with only minimal training, leaving them unprepared for certain customer issues.
Training might only include videos that aren't indicative of a day's work at VS. This does vary from store to store; not every Victoria's Secret neglects the instructional process.
