Kobe Bryant is the best basketball player since Jordan, so it's no surprise that he obliterated the legacy his father left behind. Joe Bryant's playing career was split between time overseas and in the NBA. As such, Kobe was exposed to the world at a young age. The worldly experience no doubt had an influence on a young Kobe, who grew to love and excel at both basketball and soccer.

The Alou name is legendary in baseball. Felipe was an all-star player and equally accomplished manager. His brother, Matty, was also an all-star. Moises Alou, Felipe's son, was a tremendous player, with a World Series victory to his name. He's also famous for being the Cubs outfielder that lost the ball to Steve Bartman on that fateful day.

Grant Hill decided not to follow directly in the footsteps of his father, Calvin, an accomplished running back who played nearly two decades in the NFL. Instead, Grant took his talents to the NBA, where he was a seven time all-star. Unfortuanely, the later years of his career were marred by injury.

Sandy Alomar Sr. was a pretty good baseball player. He was a one time all-star and had a knack for stealing bases. He wasn't quite as good as his sons though. Sandy Jr. was Rookie of the Year and a six time all-star. His brother, Roberto Alomar, was even better. Roberto was a 12 -time all-star, and was awarded 10 Gold Gloves and had four Silver Slugger titles.

A former big man for the Trail Blazers and Lakers, Mychal Thompson has two sons who became professional athletes. Klay Thompson, one of the Splash Brothers on the Golden State Warriors team that set records in 2016, is one of the best NBA players of his generation. Trayce Thompson, Klay's brother, plays outfield for the Los Angeles Dodgers lineup.
