About This Tool

Under the pressure of public opinion, the United States Congress passed the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act in 1980, which approved the establishment of pollution site management and rehabilitation fund, or “Super Fund”Act. Each state would then have to register its own polluted cities on the Superfund website to find a sensible solution. There are 18 Superfund sites in Connecticut, and the list is compiled in a random tool.

These superfund sites have their own individual numbers, complete lists, cities, causes, Proposed and Listed dates, and some have been removed from the site due to successful governance, the details are stored in the generator. The fund is financed by taxes on domestically produced and imported petroleum products, taxes on chemical raw materials, environmental taxes, regular allocations and recovery and management costs from those responsible for pollution.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of Superfund sites in Connecticut.
