About This Tool

In 1912, at the age of five, Henry Cowell showed off his “Cluster” stunt at the San Francisco Music Club, smashing keys with his fists and forearms. As an outstanding American composer, pianist, and music teacher, he was one of the early leaders of American avant-garde art. He used all kinds of new methods to combine sound and rhythm, and made tireless experiments on avant-garde music.

He wrote a lot of music in his life, and this tool only randomly selected 33 of them to be introduced by him. We can see the full name of each song through the generator, as well as the release date and so on. Cowell wrote many works that reflected his interest in American country praise, Irish folk music, and non-western music. To publish scores of modern composers, he founded the new music quarterly in 1927 and remained an editor until 1936.
