Throughout the Second World War, the number of landing ships increased dramatically, from 1939 to mid-1945, the United States alone built 46,580 dedicated landing ships. The number of amphibious ships used in the war was staggering. The allied forces used 4,126 landing ships during the Normandy landings in northern France, on the first day alone, more than 13,200 landing troops, more than 800 tanks and chariots, and more than 7,000 tons of ammunition and supplies were sent to land.
And throughout World War II, different countries sent ships to represent their respective national strength, they all exert every effort, hoping that through these maritime hegemonies to win maritime initiative, the initiative to promote the victory of the war to end. The random tool generated a list of only 41 of the more famous ships that appeared in World War II. These ships were the world’s leading representatives of the nation’s Comprehensive National Power.
