About This Tool

No one can forget the memory of the 36,087 civilian businessmen in Tashan Memorial, innocent people who lost their lives at sea in the first and Second World Wars. Some have died in accidents or in combat, and some have gone missing. The random tool lists 268 ships that were killed in World War I and World War II.

In fact, these ships were far from the only ones to suffer during World War I and World War II. During the First World War, 3,305 merchant ships were sunk and a total of about 17,000 crew and personnel were lost. During the Second World War, 4,786 merchant ships were sunk and some 32,000 sailors and men were lost. Not all of these ship losses are listed in this memorial, as some ships were sunk or captured without loss of life. The only vessels on display in the memorial are ships with casualties, and a complete list is kept in this generator.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of ships named on the Tower Hill Memorial.
