About This Tool

Remarkably, in 1919, the world’s first hydrofoils appeared. These ships use the lift generated by bottom-mounted hydrofoils to travel at high speed and weigh 5 tons. At over 60 knots. Some of the 16 ships recorded for commissioning and use in the generator tool represent hydrofoils.

When you randomly look at a particular type of vessel on this list, you can find the exact date of commissioning of each vessel, the operator responsible, the vessel number, the class and type of vessel, and whether or not the ship passed the test. In 1919, between the two world wars, the number of merchant ships increased by an average of 1.8 percent a year, although it declined in a few years due to the economic downturn. The production and operation of these ships had important reference value for the shipping and freight transportation at that time.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of ship commissionings in 1919.
