About This Tool
There are between five and 21 families at the Santalales. The species now found in Montana has a total of eight entries, detailed scientific names recorded in this random tool. Most of the species of Santalales are found in the tropics and subtropics. They are almost evergreen and widely distributed flowering plants. The plant, which is mostly semi-parasitic, produces sugar through photosynthesis, but goes deep into the stems or roots of other plants to obtain water and minerals.
Many of the Santalales have long been important plants for religious and folk rituals. Especially prized by the faithful in Southeast Asia. But the few species recorded in this generator, that are only found in Montana, are sadly not our most common species because of environmental and growth conditions.
