About This Tool

Air Marshal is the highest rank in the Air Force, and many countries confer this rank only in wartime. Air Marshal is a four-star officer and is currently the highest-ranking officer in the RAF to be promoted in a professional capacity. Over the entire history of the RAF, 140 RAF officers have been promoted to marshal and two are currently serving in the RAF. The random tool introduced just 12 of the most famous airmen.

These Air Force titles were granted in the late 1920s. The generator also records the granting dates of these marshals, Time in rank, Date rank last held, Posts held in rank, and a brief introduction. Many of them went from Major General, Chief of Staff, Chief of the General Staff, to Marshal.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of Royal Air Force air chief marshals.
