About This Tool

The Deputy Lieutenant decreed that when the monarch died, the Privy Council would dissolve automatically, ending the membership of all its members, on the grounds that the council would not dissolve until six months after the official dissolution in the 18th century. A total of 262 Deputy Lieutenant advisers were appointed between the accession of the Edward VIII in 1936 and the death of King George VI in 1952, all recorded in the generator.

These advisers came from a variety of parties to help the monarch with day-to-day political, military, diplomatic and economic issues, and indeed helped the monarch to solve many difficult problems during this period. Although everyone expressed their opinions, they all made concerted efforts for the development of the country.
