About This Tool

The privy council usually meets once a month, whether the monarch is in the country or not. The monarch usually presides over the council, but is sometimes represented by two or more state advisers. Further changes in the Privy Council during the reign of King George V from 1910 to 1936 made the administration of the people bureaucratic and independent, and began to focus on the interests of the nation, not just the king. A total of 414 privy council counsellors were selected during this period and recorded in this random tool, most of whom were confidants of the monarch.

During George V (1929) , George appointed the first female Margaret Bondfield to the Security Council. The generator also gives us a list of current consultants, as well as dates of birth and death. The appointment of these advisers helped the monarch to solve many of the difficult political and diplomatic problems of the time.
