About This Tool

The earliest literary creation in Portugal can be traced back to the folk ballad at the end of the 12th century. Most of these ballads are handed down orally, with obvious local characteristics, by the folk minstrel accompanied by music to rap. The earliest collections of poetry that survive today are the anthology of the Arruda at the end of the 13th century and the cantos of the Vatican and the collection of the Koloksi-brankuti at the end of the 14th century. These collections include love poems and satires written in Galician and Portuguese by folk singers and court poets around the reign of Denis I (1279-1325).

In addition to the earliest ancestor poets, the random tool also collates 168 outstanding Portuguese poets who are passionate about creating poetry, blending it with emotion, and then exporting it as an anthology of poetry that makes the world wonder. The full Portuguese names of these poets are listed in detail in the generator for the study and reference of scholars and language learners who like to study Portuguese poetry.
