About This Tool

The European Commission was established in 1949 under the impetus of the European unification movement in the early postwar period, but it was also the product of British European policy. Britain’s Labour government initially turned a cold shoulder to the European unification movement, then opposed the idea of a supranational European Parliament. Under the general trend of European Union, under the pressure of the United States, Britain proposed and implemented the establishment of the European Political Consultative Organization. So far, 18 British delegates have been posted to the European Commission as part of the Random Tool.

To consolidate its leadership in Europe by putting European Union on its own policy track; to oppose integration by ceding sovereignty in order to maintain its special relationship with the Commonwealth and the United States. Britain’s attitude towards Western European integration after 1950 is based on the same policy. The generator keeps a list of these past permanent missions to the European Commission. Judging by the kit, you’re looking at Christopher Yvonne, who started in 2016.

Click the "Display All Items" button and you will get a list of Permanent Representatives of the United Kingdom to the Council of Europe.
