  A 39 year age difference in a romantic relationship is going to be noticeable, even if the male lead is a former Bond who has aged really well. Entrapment caused quite a stir among feminists upon its release in 1999. Even still, the sexual chemistry between the insurance agent (Zeta-Jones) trying to catch the master art thief (Connery) was palpable. The film centers upon a game of cat and mouse, but one in which who was playing who changes repeatedly. Age difference or not, the relationship was believable. Interestingly enough, Zeta-Jones met her future husband Michael Douglas, a man 25 years her senior, the same year Entrapment hit theaters.

  Age Difference: 22 years

  Whip Whitaker (Washington) is an airplane pilot who saves the day. The only problem with his heroics is that he may or may not have been too drunk to fly in the first place. Whip meets up with a heroin addict (Reilly) trying for a second chance at life. Washington really doesn't look like he's almost 60 years old. We don't notice the age difference as much because Reilly is 35 in the film, not 25, and that decade makes a difference.

  Age Difference: 30 years

  Jay Bulworth (Beatty), a U.S. Senator up for re-election, is tired of the political game in this political satire. During a campaign speech at a Black church, he decides to speak the real truth instead of the same old political pandering. Bulworth meets Nina (Berry) and quickly gains respect in the hip-hop community. The 30 year age gap between Beatty and Berry is certainly a bit jaw-dropping. However, Berry doesn't have a huge role in the film, which is a definite star vehicle for Beatty (who also directed and co-wrote the script.) Additionally, because Beatty is playing a powerful figure who is trying to help her community, her attraction to him makes a little more sense.

  Woody Allen... The nebbish New Yorker never hesitates to cast himself with stunningly beautiful, often much younger women. In Manhattan, his 42-year-old character has an relationship with a 17-year-old student (Mariel Hemingway). That age gap is very much part of the plot, however. In Mighty Aphrodite, Allen discovers that the mother of his genius adopted son is actually a not-too-sharp prostitute (Sorvino.) The pair only end up in bed when they are both desperate for affection, and it only happens one time. Yes, their union is awkward, but it's Woody Allen, so it's going to be awkward no matter what.

  Age Difference: 26 years

  Diana (Moore), a married woman with money problems, agrees to have sex with John (Redford) for $1,000,000. Of course, Diana's marriage to David (Woody Harrelson) goes up in smoke afterwards, and Diana temporarily finds herself back in John's arms. Redford is 57 years old in the film, and still as handsome as ever. John is successful, rich, good looking, and suave. It's almost too hard to believe that Diana goes back to David in the end.

  Age Difference: 26 years

  If a 45-year-old dated his 19-year-old co-star today, it would be a big deal, especially if he was married. Director Howard Hawks was not too happy with the on-set romance between Bogey and Bacall, but it was somehow meant to be. Bogart divorced his third wife and later married the starlet. The couple would stay together until Bogart's death in 1957. Their chemistry in black and white is all over the screen in To Have and Have Not. Yes, the age difference is extreme, but sometimes true love is ageless. You can see it in the way they look at each other.
