About This Tool
Yorùbáland is part of and the second nation of West Africa, mainly in western and southwestern Nigeria. The population is over 20 million. Historically, the peoples of Ruba have a common language and culture, but probably never had a single political unit. They seem to have migrated from East Africa more than a thousand years ago to this part of the world west of the lower Niger River where they now live.
Yoruba, because of its independence from Nigeria, has eight states that overlap with Yorùbáland, so much of its culture and commerce overlap with Nigeria.
