About This Tool

The New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad was a railroad that operated in New England from 1872 to 1968 and dominated railroad traffic in the area during the first half of the 20th century. They often expand their business by buying, leasing, and otherwise acquiring different railroads and owning them.

On May 6,1853 South Norwalk was involved in a train accident, and union railroad officials in New York and New Haven ordered trains to stop at every drawbridge. Since then, they have taken more stringent safety measures on the railway. Random tool generated 13 railways, including the full name of the railway, the construction date and the date of acquisition and other details. The acquisition of several railroad tracks was, in the eyes of many people at the time, an extraordinary move.
