About This Tool

The main sources of law in South Africa include the Constitution, statute law, common law (including legal precedents in classic works and Case Law) and Customary Law (or “Native Law”) . South African law is a typical mixed law, on the one hand, indigenous customary law and the Chieftaincy Courts have long been retained; on the other hand, since the 17th century, English Common Law and roman-dutch law have dominated.

The current constitution of the Republic of South Africa was adopted in 1996, laying the legal foundation for the establishment of equality and democratic institutions in South Africa. The 1996 constitution clearly states that the constitution is the fundamental law of the state and has supreme legal status, and any law or act that conflicts with the constitution will be declared null and void. The random tool generated 205 items, recording all of the strategically damaging national sites, or national key points, that were released on January 16, 2015.
