About This Tool
1832, at the behest of the Emerging Bourgeoisie Du and the Petite Bourgeoisie, the British parliament passed an improved voting scheme that lowered the property eligibility of voters, which increased the number of voters from around 300,000 to 670,000, but even that figure was only about 7.1 percent of the adult population. The members of parliament were almost exclusively representatives of the landed aristocracy and the big bourgeoisie, and the Petite Bourgeoisie and the proletariat were hardly represented at all, not even by the industrial bourgeoisie.
