Gekko Moriah is the captain of the Thriller Bark Pirates, and his laugh is an honest-to-god travesty. He sounds like a dog who swallowed a deflating mattress. Even worse, it's an earworm - you won't be able to forget the sound long after the scene is over.

Sounds like: Ohohohoho!
Renge isn't the originator of the Noblewoman's Laugh, but she definitely popularized it. While her laugh completely fits her demanding, in-your-face personality, it's not exactly pleasant to listen to literally every time she appears.

Ever wanted to watch what looks like a Homestuck character wearing an ugly bathrobe twirl around the room trilling the most irritating laugh in the world as he talks about his evil plans? If you've seen One Piece, then too late, you already have. Caesar Clown is a mad scientist who takes pride in the harm he causes to others via his experiments and inventions, so it makes sense that he has an equally mad laugh to match.

Sounds like: HOhohoho! HOhohoho!
Kodachi Kuno is a gymnast and martial artist who is in love with Ranma and wants to marry him. Ranma is totally indifferent to her, so she tries to get his attention through violent means. She does this while yodeling like a badger.

Sounds like: Kehehahahaha! OOOOOahhahahah!
You do not want to to be the reason that Hidan is laughing. He's a member of the Akatsuki and a follower of Jashin, which means that taking people's lives makes him a lot happier than it otherwise would. When viewers hear his full-blown cackle, it's when he's about to take out Asuma, the leader of Team 10. So, not exactly a welcome sound.
(#6) Akira Midousuji - Yowamushi Pedal
Sounds like: Pfffft! Gross!
Akira Midousuji's laugh might sound like a criminal mastermind and/or someone who has been smoking something he found under the couch, but he's actually a high school freshman who uses bizarre body language to manipulate people's emotions so that they're less likely to defeat him in a bike race. His laugh isn't just annoying - it's actually kind of freaky.

Sounds like: Ehehehehehahahahaha.
Most specifically, this is semi-perfect Cell, one of the villains' various forms. His laughter is not only completely tuneless and grating, but his head looks like a squish toy for dogs while he's doing it. Come on DBZ, isn't Cell freaky enough already without this laugh?
(#8) Beatrice - Umineko: When They Cry
Sounds like: REHEHEHEHEHE! Nyehehehe.
There are plenty of maniacal laughs in the When They Cry universe, but the one that really qualifies as annoying belongs to Beatrice of Umineko. She's a sadistic, manipulative witch who loves hurting people, but she looks like a refined lady. Her laugh is appropriate for neither - instead, it's a discordant cackle that changes in pitch every millisecond. It sounds, as Ronove says, inelegant.
(#9) Livebearer - Toriko
Sounds like: Beh... heee heeee heeee. Ohohoho.
The first terrible thing about Livebearer's laugh is having to look at the underside of his tongue - that thing looks like a plant that grows in the depths of hell. The second terrible thing is the ringlets of drool cascading out of his mouth as he snickers to himself about eating people's memories. Basically, this nasty casino owner is like a Pokémon who knows Dream Eater, but way less cute, and with a way worse laugh.

Sounds like: Hahahahaha. Heeheehee.
Akane is not only laughing like some kind of weird high-pitched robot, but she also isn't even moving her mouth. No wonder her buddy looks so unsettled. Maybe she had to sacrifice her ability to laugh like a normal person in order to be able to wield the magic of her palette suit?

- Black Butler
Sounds like: Huhuhuhuh... AHAHAHAHAHA!
The most annoying part of Grell's laugh is that he doesn't open his mouth or even move his face after his appearance shift. Sure, it sounds bad, but if the animation doesn't even match up with the sound, it's just plain awkward. Where is the laugh even coming from, his chainsaw?

The Moon is an important part of the backdrop in the world of Soul Eater, and it often calls attention to itself with its mechanical snickering. First off, it's annoying to have what is basically a narration device tell viewers how to feel about whatever has happened or is about to happen. Second, the sound itself is just plain grating.

Sounds like: WAHAHAHA!
Principal Nezu, the humanoid mouse in charge of U.A. High School, is usually a pretty chill dude - but on the rare occasion that he does get riled up, he'll bust out with one of these laughs. It's only a little bit like a jackhammer to the eardrum.

Sounds like: EHAHAHAHA-WUH-AHAHAHAHA!
Shigure Sohma's laugh is awful both because of how it sounds and because of its context. Dude is a grown man - 27 years old - who is busting a gut over finding a homeless teenage girl living in a tent on his property. He could have the most harmonious laugh in the universe and it would still be annoying that he's finding something to laugh about in what's actually a pretty grim situation. As it is, it just sounds like he's spitting into his hands.

- One Piece (JP), One Piece Film: Strong World, One Piece Film: Z, Miss Valentine
Sounds like: Yohohohohoho!
Sorry to inundate you with One Piece, but this show is truly exceptional when it comes to cringe-worthy laughs. Brook's laugh actually does sound sufficiently like a pirate, but the fact that he doesn't start talking about bottles of rum afterward makes the laugh less appalling. Also, how does he even laugh at all? He doesn't have lungs.
