Since the 1980s, Mexican film production has declined and the film industry has become stagnant, with filmmakers focusing on co productions with foreign countries such as the Soviet Union under J. Rieder’s adaptation of the Red Bell (1982) , with France, Spain co-produced “Antonieta” , co-produced with the United States “under the volcano” and so on. Mexican film workers have a different view, they think that some producers in order to make money, for co-production to provide good conditions, but domestic films are very harsh. The writers, directors and actors of these co-productions were mostly foreigners, and as a result, the film talents of the country were lost.
