  (#1) Ulquiorra

  • Bleach

  Even though Ulquiorra Cifer was only rank 4 in Aizen’s army of Arrancar, he clearly had more power than he was willing to reveal. Like most of the Espada, Ulquiorra was fast, strong, durable, and skilled with a sword. What made the Espada envious of him was his incredible regeneration ability. No matter how serious an injury, Ulquiorra was able to fully repair himself in seconds (as long as it wasn’t his brain or internal organs, of course).

  Furthermore, Ulquiorra was the only member of the Espada that had two Resurrección forms. Both forms greatly enhanced Ulquiorra’s strengths and abilities, while making him appear as a winged demon. His second Resurrección allowed him to install an intense sense of despair in his enemies. Because of his cold and calculated demeanor, Ulquiorra could keep a level head and get an accurate read of the situation.

  (#2) Coyote Starrk

  In sharp contrast to Yammy, Coyote Starrk was a highly-skilled fighter who could overpower his enemies in strength and intelligence. Starrk’s spiritual energy was so strong his mere presence was enough to destroy any Hollow within his radius. Lilynette Gingerbuck, Starrk’s partner and only friend, was made up of his spirit energy. Starrk’s agility was so fast he could create after-images of himself and use them to confuse his enemies.

  He was capable of firing a thousand Ceroes that appeared as a concentrated blast through his dual pistols and could control their directory after firing them off. All this, plus the ability to summon a pack of exploding wolves. Exploding wolves! And yet, Starrk was lazy and apathetic as Yammy. Starrk’s motivation to fight was also shaken after the death of Baraggan.

  (#7) Szayel Aporro Granz

  Filling out the “mad scientist” role of the Espada was Szayelaporro Granz. Several of his movesets revolved around his intelligence and deadly inventions. After proper analysis, Szayelaporro could nullify an attack and make himself immune to their abilities. Also, Szayelaporro could create a shield by wrapping the wing-like appendages from his Resurrección form to protect himself. Szayelaporro was also able to mass-produce an army of clones of his opponent and use their skills against them.

  Notably, but less scientifically, Szayelaporro could create a voodoo-like doll of his enemies and inflict tremendous pain to them by harming their exterior, or by puncturing the doll’s Fisher-Price internal organs. Szayelaporro’s most significant (and disgusting) ability is implanting a bit of himself onto an enemy and using that to be reborn through the victim’s body via the mouth, as a way of fully healing any injury perceived as beyond repair. However, if the victim’s internal substance that Szayelaporro absorbs his harmful, it will have a negative effect on his reborn body. Which was the case in Szayelaporro’s battle against  Mayuri Kurotsuchi and Nemu Kurotsuchi, causing his defeat.

  (#4) Grimmjow Jaggerjack

  Grimmjow Jaggerjack is the “bad boy” of the Espada. He’s rude, aggressive, short-tempered, and rebellious towards authority. In fact, he’s actually quite similar to Ichigo Kurosaki, which may explain why their bouts were so heated. Despite his impulsive attitude, Grimmjow is actually an observant individual who can take any advantage when the situation presents itself. While all members of the Espada can fire out Cero, Grimmjow’s Cero is so powerful it could blast away Las Noches itself. Even at rank 6, Grimmjow was able to defeat Ichigo twice in battle, proving he’s no pushover on the battlefield.

  (#3) Baraggan Louisenbairn

  As the former God-king of Hueco Mundo, Baraggan Louisenbairn thought very highly of himself in life. Sure, Baraggan’s elderly appearance may give off a sense of frailty, but as Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto has shown, looks can be deceiving. Baraggan was extremely strong, fast, and durable. What set him apart from other members of the Espada, however, was his ability to accelerate the time of any object or living thing he touched. 

  Soi Fon experienced this first hand, literally, as she had to amputate her left arm after Baraggan infected it. If she didn’t cut it off, her entire body would have rotted away. It’s why Baraggan was the representation of the Aspect of Death. Despite his deadly touch, Baraggan was just as vulnerable to the acceleration of time as everyone else. Baraggan’s arrogance and pride often got in the way, such as his humiliating initial battle with Sōsuke Aizen that ended with him being dethroned.

  (#5) Tier Halibel

  While Tier Harribel is a formidable fighter, her real skills lie in her analytical mind. She can see through a person’s facade and use their hidden thoughts against them, such as exploiting Tōshirō Hitsugaya’s concern for Momo Hinamori. In addition to her intellect, Harribel is also a skilled swordsman who can go toe-to-toe with a prodigy like Hitsugaya, and can wield a sword in either hand. Through the slash of her sword, Harribel can unleash a wide projection of Cero energy that can devastate any opponent. Lastly, Harribel can manipulate water for various attacks that range from a deadly slash to an overwhelming flood.
