About This Tool

Before the Massachusetts 54 Volunteer Infantry, an infantry regiment of the Union army and the most famous Black Infantry Regiment of the American civil war, the history of the Free Negro Army in the United States goes back to the first Rhode Island Regiment during the Revolutionary War. The soldiers were recruited by the white abolitionism, and the first recruit was J. Appleton, who later became a lieutenant in the army, advertised in the local Boston newspaper.

The random tool generated 36 entries for the Massachusetts Civil War army list. With this tool, you can find infantries, Sharpshooters, Cavalry, Artillery, and so on recorded from # 1 to # 62.
