  • Daredevil on Random Marvel TV Characters That Would Fit Perfectly Into The MCU's Future Plans

    (#1) Daredevil

    • Daredevil vs. Spider-Man, Daredevil, Marvel Universe

Where He's From: Daredevil (2015-2018), The Defenders (2017)

Who He Is: The Man Without Fear, Matthew Murdock, is one of the most popular characters in Marvel Comics history - and perhaps the most important to not yet appear in the MCU. Despite being blinded as a child in the same accident that gave him his powers, Murdock manages to live a double-life as a lawyer by day and a radar-sense-possessing martial arts vigilante by night.

Where He'd Fit Into The MCU: There are already plenty of superheroes in the MCU, but thus far, none of them have much courtroom experience, and that’s exactly the sort of team-up that Spider-Man needs in the near future. Framed for a violent act and unmasked to the world in Far From Home, Peter Parker will be looking for help clearing his name in the next Spidey sequel - and who better than Daredevil to provide it?

  • Kingpin on Random Marvel TV Characters That Would Fit Perfectly Into The MCU's Future Plans

    (#2) Kingpin

    • Daredevil vs. Spider-Man, Daredevil, Marvel Universe

    Where He's From: Daredevil (2015-2018)

Who He Is: Wilson Fisk is by far the most dangerous non-powered villain in the annals of Marvel Comics. The Kingpin of Crime isn’t just a threat because of his vast underworld empire and seemingly perpetual control over the city of New York. He’s also so improbably strong that he’s capable of going toe-to-toe with vigilantes a lot tougher than Daredevil.

Where He'd Fit Into The MCU: Wilson Fisk and Matthew Murdock are clearly each other’s worst enemies, but the comic book version of the Kingpin has always carried a unique brand of hatred for Spider-Man. The two have already tangled in video games, animated series, and Into the Spider-Verse, so it’s long past time they did so in a live-action setting via the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home sequel.

  • Ghost Rider on Random Marvel TV Characters That Would Fit Perfectly Into The MCU's Future Plans

    (#3) Ghost Rider

    Where He's From: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013-present)

Who He Is: Robbie Reyes is only the most recent Marvel character to carry the mantle of Ghost Rider, but he’s the first to play a starring role in any sort of Marvel Studios project. Not only did he feature in a season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but he was also set to get his own Hulu show - though that was canceled before it hit the air. That leaves Reyes in the same situation he was at the end of his time with S.H.I.E.L.D., which is trapped in some sort of alternate dimension that is ostensibly “hell.”

Where He'd Fit Into The MCU: Alternate dimensions, you say? That doesn’t just sound like a job for Doctor Strange - it sounds like the premise of his next movie, In the Multiverse of Madness. With Stephen Strange and Wanda Maximoff already headed to different worlds, a pitstop in hell to rescue Ghost Rider doesn’t sound like much of a stretch - and he fits in perfectly with the apparent horror-fantasy aesthetic of the film.

  • Punisher on Random Marvel TV Characters That Would Fit Perfectly Into The MCU's Future Plans

    (#4) Punisher

    • Punisher: War Zone, The Punisher, Iron Man: Rise of Technovore, The Punisher, The Punisher: Dirty Laundry, Marvel Universe

Where He's From: Daredevil (2015-2018), The Punisher (2017-2019)

Who He Is: Frank Castle has no superpowers - not unless you count an inhuman amount of aggressive impulses as a superpower - yet he remains one of Marvel’s most recognizable characters. Whether he’s appearing in the pages of Marvel Comics or on Netflix, the Punisher’s story is always the same: Frank’s family is slain, he paints a skull on his chest, and then he starts taking out criminals and never stops.

Where He'd Fit Into The MCU: There’s only one other man in the MCU who has displayed a penchant for bloody rampages that rival the Punisher’s: the Winter Soldier. Now that Bucky Barnes is completely reformed, however, it makes for an interesting dichotomy between the two. Just having Castle around to debate the merits of lethal justice with Barnes and Sam Wilson in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier would be entertaining enough, but everyone would leave disappointed if Bucky and Frank didn’t engage in at least one battle.

  • Iron Fist on Random Marvel TV Characters That Would Fit Perfectly Into The MCU's Future Plans

    (#5) Iron Fist

    • Marvel Universe

Where He's From: Iron Fist (2017-2018), The Defenders (2017), Luke Cage (2016-2018)

Who He Is: Danny Rand is the Immortal Iron Fist, Protector of K’un-Lun, sworn enemy of the Hand. Though his title as the top martial artist in the world of Marvel is contentious, he’s definitely the one who packs the most powerful punch - though that still only rates him as the least popular Defender.

Where He'd Fit Into The MCU: Iron Fist might need more mortal combat-friendly surroundings in order to really thrive as a character, and there’s only one future MCU project that can provide it - Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. One aspect of that film’s purported plot will be some sort of superpowered martial arts tournament - and that’s got Danny Rand’s name written all over it. And if he and Shang-Chi face off in said tournament? All the better.

  • Luke Cage on Random Marvel TV Characters That Would Fit Perfectly Into The MCU's Future Plans

    (#6) Luke Cage

    • Ultimate Spider-Man, Marvel Universe

Where He's From: Jessica Jones (2015-2019), Luke Cage (2016-2018) The Defenders (2017), Iron Fist (2017-2018)

Who He Is: Luke Cage is the hero for hire from Harlem with bulletproof skin and a bull-proof demeanor. He’s truly a man of the people, preferring to stick around his own neighborhood in a constant attempt to make it a safer place to live - a mission that eventually led to him taking over the local criminal organizations in a mostly benevolent fashion.

Where He'd Fit Into The MCU: Many MCU characters have already been described as “street-level,” but Moon Knight is going to be the first hero to truly deserve that title. Marc Spector does his best work while literally running around back alleys and rooftops by night, and he usually does it in neighborhoods much like Harlem. Having Moon Knight interact with the pre-cancellation crime boss version of Luke Cage would be especially fascinating, given that it would almost inevitably end with a begrudging fistic team-up.

  • Bullseye on Random Marvel TV Characters That Would Fit Perfectly Into The MCU's Future Plans

    (#7) Bullseye

    • Elektra (The Hand & The Devil), Daredevil, Marvel Universe

    Where He's From: Daredevil (2015-2018)

Who He Is: The version of Bullseye that appears on Netflix’s Daredevil is vastly different from the one existing in the pages of Marvel Comics - the two characters don’t even share the same real name. What they do share, however, is a proficiency for uncanny accuracy with quite literally any object, including all manner of weapons, and a psychopathic disregard for anyone other than themselves.

Where He'd Fit Into The MCU: The Bullseye-versus-Hawkeye rivalry is an obvious one, and it has some serious Marvel Comics precedence - Bullseye once even went by the name of “Hawkeye” for a while as a member of the Dark Avengers. They’re both good at hitting things with other things, and they’ve both got “eye” in their names. It would be an outright shame if the two of them never got the chance to take shots at one another in live action - and the upcoming Hawkeye series could be the last opportunity for a good long while.

  • Leo Fitz on Random Marvel TV Characters That Would Fit Perfectly Into The MCU's Future Plans

    (#8) Leo Fitz

    • Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

    Where They're From: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013-present)

Who They Are: Agents Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons are two members of the original cast of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and they have remained on the series through seven seasons of television. Since their debut, they’ve grown together, married (twice), and become two of the preeminent scientists on the planet - and foremost experts on superhuman happenings.

Where They'd Fit Into The MCU: The Fitzsimmons duo has some significant experience in dealing with oddities. They’ve dealth with alternate digital realities, fear dimensions, and time travel already, so there’s not much in the MCU they couldn’t wrap their heads around - including, perhaps, whatever the heck is wrong with Wanda Maximoff in WandaVision. It’s quite clear that something spooky is happening in that series, and there may be no better minds available to crack the case than Fitz and Simmons.

  • Agent Phil Coulson on Random Marvel TV Characters That Would Fit Perfectly Into The MCU's Future Plans

    (#9) Agent Phil Coulson

    • Ultimate Spider-Man, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Thor, Iron Man, Nick Fury, The Avengers, Iron Man 2

Where He's From: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013-present), formerly the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Who He Is: Unlike most of the other stars on Marvel Television, even the most casual fans of the MCU know who Phil Coulson is. He appeared in the film that started it all, Iron Man, and from there on out was S.H.I.E.L.D.’s most loyal agent - until he perished at the point of Loki’s sceptre in Avengers. Nick Fury then used Coulson's demise to bring together Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

Where He'd Fit Into The MCU: Fortunately for Phil fanatics, Coulson didn’t stay gone for long. He was resurrected by Nick Fury with top-secret, alien blood-based technology, and went on to star in six seasons of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. - before once again meeting his demise. He’s since been replaced by a Life Model Decoy, and that’s the form in which he should reenter the MCU. By having Coulson be a robot duplicate, Marvel Studios could avoid explaining all that convoluted “Tahiti” business - and with an entirely new roster of Avengers coming soon, there’s once again a need for his unique brand of earnest motivation.

  • Dottie Underwood Belongs In Black Widow’s Origin Story on Random Marvel TV Characters That Would Fit Perfectly Into The MCU's Future Plans

(#10) Dottie Underwood Belongs In Black Widow’s Origin Story

Where She's From: Agent Carter (2015-2016)

Who She Is: Dottie Underwood is the original Black Widow, or at the very least more of an original Black Widow than Natasha Romanoff. Trained in the same Red Room Academy that would one day produce Romanoff, Underwood plagued Peggy Carter back in the '50s, when S.H.I.E.L.D. was known as the SSR, and proved to be an exceptionally lethal foe. And as far as viewers know, she was never caught.

Where She'd Fit Into The MCU: The Black Widow film is set in the past of the MCU, but it’s not set so far in the past that Dottie Underwood could reasonably show up. With that being said, the plot promises to delve deep into the history of the Red Room and the assassins it once churned out, and Dottie is a big part of that history. Any sort of shout-out, no matter how small, would surely be celebrated by fans of Marvel Television’s first series.

  • Jessica Jones on Random Marvel TV Characters That Would Fit Perfectly Into The MCU's Future Plans

    (#11) Jessica Jones

    • Marvel Universe

Where She's From: Jessica Jones (2015-2019), The Defenders (2017)

Who She Is: Jessica Jones spends her time as a private investigator digging into the lives of others for profit, which is a tad ironic given how much of a mess her own is. In the comics, Jones is the wife of Luke Cage and a family-oriented character these days - but on Netflix she was anything but settled down. That version of the character was still very much in the “ill-defined superpowers and ill-advised habits” segment of her life.

Where She'd Fit Into The MCU: Nearly three decades have passed since the beginning of Captain Marvel and the end of Avengers: Endgame, and that means that most of Carol Danvers’s friends, like Maria Rambeau, will have become elderly while she remains ageless. In other words, Danvers could use a new bestie, and both comic book history and potential chemistry suggest it should be Jessica Jones. Not only are the two close in the pages of Marvel Comics, but they also seem like two people who would really get along - what with their similar feelings on guff and the prospect of taking any of it.

  • Cloak and Dagger on Random Marvel TV Characters That Would Fit Perfectly Into The MCU's Future Plans

    (#12) Cloak and Dagger

Where They're From: Cloak and Dagger (2018-2019), Runaways (2017-2019)

Who They Are: Whether in comic book form or on Freeform, Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Bowen are two young adults granted unique superpowers - access to a dark dimension and lightforce generation, respectively - by the nefarious actions of a corporation. Often living on the edge of homelessness, Cloak and Dagger are as street-level as it gets.

Where They'd Fit Into The MCU: Whenever Jen Walters finally starts practicing law on Disney+’s She-Hulk, she’s going to need some clients, and Shulkie specializes in helping down-on-their-luck superheroes. A couple of zoomers with next to no income and a bone to pick with an enormous corporation sounds like the exact sort of hard-luck case Walters has been known to take - and she might even do it pro bono.

  • Daisy Johnson on Random Marvel TV Characters That Would Fit Perfectly Into The MCU's Future Plans

    (#13) Daisy Johnson

    • Marvel Universe

    Where She's From: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2013-present)

Who She Is: Daisy Johnson started her journey as an amateur hacker hired on by Phil Coulson and S.H.I.E.L.D. Slowly but surely, she discovers that she’s the daughter of a supervillain and an immortal Inhuman, and that she, herself, is one of the most powerful superhumans on the planet. Quake’s vibrational abilities are so strong that they’re capable of destroying worlds - which is exactly what she did in one future-flung storyline.

Where She'd Fit Into The MCU: Many media outlets are touting Shang-Chi as the first Asian character in the MCU, but that’s only if you don’t count Quake - who’s lasted seven seasons over at Marvel Television. But that’s far from the only reason she could make an appearance in The Legend of the Ten Rings. On top of her prodigious power, Daisy Johnson has become a premier martial artist, much like Shang-Chi, and she’s been in some of the best fight scenes in Marvel history already.

  • The Runaways Need To Help Ms. Marvel Start The Young Avengers on Random Marvel TV Characters That Would Fit Perfectly Into The MCU's Future Plans

(#14) The Runaways Need To Help Ms. Marvel Start The Young Avengers

    Where They're From: Runaways (2017-2019)

Who They Are: The Runaways are a team of young people brought together by the fact that their parents all happened to be part of the same intersectional squad of supervillains, the Pride. With a wide variety of powersets and origin stories, they form an unlikely family through countless heart-rending adventures - though they’ve since moved to the background of the modern Marvel Comics.

Where They'd Fit Into The MCU: All indications are that Ms. Marvel is going to lead the charge when it comes to a new generation of heroes in the MCU, and that probably means she’ll form a team of Young Avengers or Champions at some point in the future. When she does, she’ll need teammates - and there’s already a bunch of them waiting for her in Nico Minoru, Karolina Dean, Chase Stein, and the rest of the Runaways. Really, the Runaways and the Young Avengers have always been the cream of the crop of junior Marvel teams - so why not mash them together?

  • Purple Man on Random Marvel TV Characters That Would Fit Perfectly Into The MCU's Future Plans

    (#15) Purple Man

    • Marvel Universe

Where He's From: Jessica Jones (2015-2019)

Who He Is: The supervillain known as Kilgrave may not be a literal Purple Man in Jessica Jones the way he is in the comics, but he’s every bit as terrifying as any iteration of the character. The villain has the ability to control the minds of others and command them to do whatever he wants through microparticles and the sound of his voice.

Where He'd Fit Into The MCU: Kilgrave is able to take complete control of a superhuman as powerful as Jessica Jones, but in the lore of Marvel Comics, he’s proven capable of handling much more impressive opponents. In theory, his abilities could affect anyone in the MCU, so bringing him back to life and popping him into a film full of powerhouses like Thor: Love and Thunder would be chaos in the making. It isn’t difficult to imagine the Purple Man taking control of the Odinson himself and having him fight with Jane Foster and Valkyrie - nor is it difficult to imagine some sort of resurrection shenanigans in a film that will feature the surprise reappearance of Mjolnir.
