About This Tool

The French Marshal (Maréchal de France) is a French military title, established by Philippe Auguste for the Alberic Clement (Alb éric Cl ément). It is different from “Mar Échal”, a French word derived from the French Germanic languages “Horse” and “servant”. In medieval France and some other European countries, “Mar échal” was a general officer in the army. He was responsible for the formation of the marching and fighting armies, supervising the execution of guard duties, managing the affairs of the army and commanding the vanguard, choose a camp or other job.
