About This Tool
Mâron, part of the Catholic Church, an offshoot of the weantiokean liturgical tradition, is one of the 23 members of the Eastern Catholic Church. The church is fully integrated with the Vatican. In the early 5th century, Saint Malone, a Syrian hermit, was the leader of a group of hermits on the banks of the Orontes River. When he died in 410, his followers established a monastery in his name and began to develop it. When some Christians killed some 350 of the hermits of Marlon, the order decided to flee to the hills of Lebanon.
