About This Tool

The Mamiya Sekor cameras of the M42 era were very cheap. The Mamiya shots were divided into two main periods, auto and SX. No matter which version it was, it was well made, in the auto version of Mamiya, the colors are mostly clear and feminine, a little close to Takuma, but without the warm tones. Mamiya Green is an outstanding performance. The images are subtle, but they’re not sharp, which is probably why they’re so unpopular in modern times. The SX version was a big deal, basically a Rollei Lens, with a sharp, layered image that was almost as good as Zeiss’s. Unfortunately, because the SX came too late, it was in the final stages of the M42, so it didn’t make a name for itself. The SX versions did not have an a/m switch and required a thimble connector for use.
