About This Tool

The rudiments of cricket date back to the 12th century. Around the time of the 1300, there were written accounts of a movement called “Creag” by the sons of the Edward I of England, Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex. According to the 1598, cricket is already played by students at the Royal Grammar School (Guildford) in Guildford. This is generally considered to be the first English mention of cricket. The term “cricket” seems to have many origins, possibly derived from the earlier term cricket stick: the Old French “criquet”(meaning some sort of stick) , or the Flemish “Krick”(meaning stick, stick) , or Old English “CRICC” or “cryce. ”.
