About This Tool

The MLB website announced that Major League Baseball and the players’ union had reached an agreement to issue new rules that would come into force in 2019 and 2020. They include expanding the 25-player roster to 26, reducing visits to pitcher mound, keeping only one trade deadline and home-run bonuses of $1 million. With regard to the previously high-profile issue of the pitching timer, the MLS has agreed with the unions that it will not discuss the rule until after the 2021 season is over. The rule will be discussed after a new collective bargaining agreement is signed.
