About This Tool

A diplomat is an official who is engaged in foreign affairs for a country. The duty of a diplomat is to negotiate bilaterally or multilaterally with other countries on behalf of his or her country. Diplomats are either temporary or resident in another country for the sole purpose of discussing a particular matter. The office of a resident diplomat is usually an embassy or a consulate. Resident diplomats often also have the task of providing services to or managing the affairs of their citizens. Diplomats are often also engaged in espionage or other intelligence work in other countries, which is generally regarded as an unfriendly practice towards other countries, and as a result, their diplomats are not recognized by the general state as being engaged in espionage work abroad, but the fact is that diplomats do espionage outside the country is something that all countries do, including countries that are friends or allies.
